A new video has emerged comparing Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch.
Yesterday, a special 10.0.0 update was released for the game. While there’s a ton included such as additional content, there are specific improvements for those playing on the new console. Nintendo promised more detailed visuals, an improved frame rate in certain areas (essentially now everything is 60 frames per second), and more. Now we get to see

Mario Kart World online play and more down due to huge Google Cloud internet outage [update: back up]

Original: No, it’s not just you – online play for Mario Kart World is down, along with other Nintendo services and plenty of other things across the internet.
The culprit seems to be a massive outage with Google Cloud. Mario Kart World’s online play uses this, so online is currently broken. The game will try searching for players, but will eventually time out with a server communication issue and the error code 231-4608 given.

Switch 2 is Nintendo’s fastest-selling hardware ever in the U.S.

According to the latest information provided by Nintendo, Switch 2 is the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware in the United States. That’s based on the system’s first four days of availability. Nintendo has confirmed that detail specifically.
On top of that, we’re also hearing that Nintendo Switch 2 sales in all regions were approximately twice those of the Nintendo Switch 1 across both consoles’ first four days on the market.

Disgaea 7 Complete is on the way to Nintendo Switch 2, NIS America just announced. The game launches exclusively on the console this fall.
Disgaea 7 originally came to Nintendo Switch at the start of 2023. The Complete version did arrive on Nintendo Switch last year, but only in Japan. This new version has new features and content such as uncapped stats and new challenges. All DLC will be packed in as well.

Level-5 issued a new version 1.1.0 update for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, and while it’s out on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, there are specific graphical improvements on the new console.
The patch improves shadows and reflection effects, and extends the distance at which objects are rendered on Nintendo Switch 2. A number of other features and fixes are also included.

Thanks to Digital Foundry, we have new technical details about Fast Fusion on Nintendo Switch 2, and as usual information is available about things like frame rate and resolution. There are also interesting tidbits about the use of DLSS which is negatively impacting image quality, though that’ll be addressed with a new option coming with a patch shortly.

June 10: Nintendo has announced its next free Switch game update on Switch 2, which is for Splatoon 3. It will be available on June 12, 2025 with version 10.0.0
The update will include enhanced visuals and a better frame rate, particularly in locations like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Cross-play with Nintendo Switch owners will be supported.
