SEGA comments on Sonic Lost World extra lives pre-order bonus, players will never pay for lives, difficulty talk

SEGA revealed a peculiar pre-order bonus for Sonic Lost World earlier this week. Players who reserve the Wii U version from Amazon will receive 25 extra lives.
Kind of odd, isn’t it?
SEGA has since commented on the unconventional pre-order bonus. Associate brand manager Aaron Webber told Kotaku, “The lives are not really the focus”, with the Deadly Six Edition content taking prominence. He added that paying for lives “will never be a thing in a Sonic game” and the bonus is “a way to let you have a bit more fun being reckless if you want to be.”

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Renews an All-Time Great
REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Oct. 4 marks a day of new adventures for fans of The Legend of Zelda franchise with the launch of the packaged version of one of the greatest video games of all time, the remastered The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for the Wii U home console. The disc comes with distinctive gold-foil packaging and is available at a suggested price of $49.99.
The disc represents another option for shoppers who want to be a part of the adventure. Wii U owners can also download the game from the Nintendo eShop for $49.99. Fans who do not own a Wii U system can opt for the limited-edition bundle, which comes with a black Deluxe Wii U console; a GamePad controller adorned with the gold Hyrule crest and symbols from the game; a download code for the digital version of Hyrule Historia, a book that details the chronology, history and artwork of The Legend of Zelda series; and a code to download The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD from the Nintendo eShop. The bundle is available at a suggested retail price of $299.99.

Crank Software WebKit Chosen to Power Nintendo Web Framework

Crank Software’s WebKit technology has been selected to power the Nintendo Web Framework, it was announced today. Developers of all kinds can take advantage of the Nintendo Web Framework to create new games and applications for Wii U. HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS are all supported.
Crank Software president Brian Edmond said of the news:
“Our goal is to give developers the best tools possible so that they can create successful games and applications. With this WebKit for the Nintendo Web Framework, we were able to put the power of new technology like HTML5 in the hands of developers – and we look forward to seeing all of the games and applications they can create with the Nintendo Web Framework.”

MODOK confirmed for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

MODOK is one of the more well-known Marvel villains. So it makes sense that the character will be including in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.
Game director Arthur Parsons provided Game Informer with the following information regarding MODOK’s appearance:
“Doctor Doom is scouring the planet looking for the cosmic Lego bricks from the Silver Surfer’s board and enlists the help of A.I.M., who supply him with a purpose-built ship, the Doom Tanker. This navigates the seas looking for bricks and is crewed by A.I.M. Goons under the jurisdiction of MODOK. So as the player is tracking the cosmic Lego bricks – when they least expect it – MODOK turns up to rain on their parade. As sinister as ever, MODOK assaults the player and tries to slow them down allowing Doctor Doom to escape in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Research Submarine.”
