Mewtwo coming to Smash Bros. for owners of both Wii U and 3DS versions

Mewtwo is on the way to Super Smash Bros., Nintendo has revealed. This will be available to those who purchase both versions of the game – Wii U and 3DS. Mewtwo is in development and will be released in Spring 2015.

Today’s Super Smash Bros. for Wii U “50-Fact Extravaganza” (Nintendo Direct, or whatever else you want to call it!) will begin at 6 PM ET / 5 PM PT (about an hour from now). I’ll try to have a live blog going below, but we’ll see how this turns out. If nothing else, expect new posts on the site as major news comes in.
– Over 40 fighters to choose from at the start
– More fighters than the 3DS version to start
– Highest quality visuals ever for Smash Bros.
– Can have 8-player Smashes
– Bigger stages in Wii U version
– The Great Cave Offensive, Jungle Hijinks stages confirmed
– More stages in the Wii U version
– Mario Circuit, Mario Circuit (Brawl), 75m, Wrecking Crew, Delfino Plaza, Miiverse stage, and more
– There will be talk between Viridi and Palutena, Star Fox characters in stages
– Metal Face appears in Gaur Plains on Wii U
– Ridley appears in Pyrosphere, can join a fighter’s side
– If he consumes certain energy, he will become Meta Ridley
– Other elements can be used in this stage
– Coin battles return
– Stamina Smash in Special Smash mode
– Special Smash: change the rules and create your own match the way you like it
– Item frequency can be adjusted (often, rarely, never)
– Toggle certain items to appear like the 3DS version
– My Music in this version; take all the songs from various stages in series and set how frequently they appear
– Can change the basic menu music now
– More songs in the Wii U game (not even close to the 3DS version)
– Almost all 3DS music is in the Wii U version

– Collect music by finding in-game CDs

PDP bringing out more GameCube-style controllers for Wii U/Wii

PDP has another four “Fight Pad” controllers planned for Wii U.
The new variations include Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, and Wario themes. Each is given a tentative February 20 release date by Canadian retailer Video Games Plus. They’re all priced at $25.
Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach PDP Fight Pads are the first wave of controllers from PDP.
