The online method used to correct the game-breaking bug in Skyward Sword comes in the form of the “Zelda Data Restoration Channel.” Japanese Wii owners can download this program today to their consoles starting today. After following the on-screen instructions, your game file will be fixed. The channel will likely go live in other territories very soon.

This is very, very neat. It combines the style of Link’s Awakening while incorporating elements of Skyward Sword. What do you guys think about it?

Thanks to Sakura for the tip!

The OFLC has added new listings for Prince of Persia and Rayman. Prince of Persia was rated for both Wii and 3DS while Rayman was rated only for Nintendo’s handheld.

It’s very possible that these listings are related to upcoming Virtual Console releases. We’ll let you know if Ubisoft says anything official.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has shared his favorite dungeon of Skyward Sword. A certain gameplay element in Lanayru Mine makes this area his favorite.

Aonuma said:

“There is a part where you use an item called the Timeshift Stone that enables you to switch between the past and present. I think that this is something that can only be done in games and I believe it utilises the interactive quality of games brilliantly.”

Do any of you have a favorite dungeon?

Usually we don’t see comparisons like this. It’s an odd, yet interesting way to compare the two games…

Thanks to Jeffrey H for the tip!

Shonen Jump has provided a first look at Dragon Quest X’s story mode. You can find the information below, and you can also view a scan from the magazine here that contains new screenshots.

– Game starts off in a small village named Etene
– A pair of siblings have lost their parents when they were young
– The two are trouble makers, but they live a quiet life in the village
– They’re both separated from the rest of the world
– Play as one of the two siblings
– You make yourself and your sibling during the character creation process
– Choose your gender; can have a pair of brothers, a pair or sisters, or mixed
– Have the human form just at the start of the game
– Unclear what makes you transform into one of the five non-human races
– Experience combat early on in the story
– Akira Toriyama designed a few key residents
– Aba: Maiden at the shrine; has a bad mouth; villagers trust her greatly
– Shini: Aba’s grandson; looks after Aba; usually calm and relaxed; can be relied upon when there’s a situation
