Wii

Showers or no showers, the onset of April brings another round of new downloadable games for Nintendo systems. The Super NESâ„¢ favorite Super Bonk is now available on the Virtual Consoleâ„¢ service, giving Wiiâ„¢ owners a fun new way to enjoy the hard-headed fun of the classic series. And as real-world baseball comes back to life in ballparks across the nation, the Nintendo DSiWareâ„¢ service offers the hand-held excitement of Absolute Baseball, challenging players to guide their own customized teams to big-league victory. Dark dungeons, fairytale adventures and exotic fish add even greater variety to this week’s lineup.

A few more Spider-Man: Edge of Time details have surfaced from WonderCon. You can check out the first batch of information we posted yesterday here.

– Trailer narrated by Spider-Man 2099
– Gameplay comparable to Shattered Dimensions
– In the trailer, Spider-Man 2099 says “We must defy time itself together”
– He also says “a hero has no future if he has no past”
– Another line is that the only person that can help him is already dead
– Picture-in-picture mechanic used so that the characters can communicate
– Also shows how the timelines are affecting each other
– Voice actors recorded their lines at the same time, at the same place
– Likely no multiplayer
– The Statue of Liberty changes once the scientist kills Peter Parker
– Team is making sure there won’t be any sort of continuity paradoxes

This information comes from the folks over at Nnooo…

“We’ve been speaking to Nintendo since E3 last year and our plan at the moment is to finish escapeVektor for WiiWare and then finish Spirit Hunters for DSiWare. Then what we’re hoping to do is bring escapeVektor to the 3DS. The design of the game has taken the 3DS into account, particularly in the graphics, so it should look even better on the 3DS, which will be cool. And we also want to look into bringing Spirit Hunters over to 3DS as well. We think the battles in particular would look amazing with the spirit traveling in and out of the screen. A bit like Face Raiders I suppose. We’ve got lots of plans to support the 3DS. It’s basically going to be our main platform that we are going to be focusing on in the future.”

Nnooo has previously expressed interest in bringing Spirit Hunters to the 3DS, but now it sounds as though it’s something that will definitely happen. I’m wondering when we’ll finally see the DSiWare version, though…

Thanks to Benjamin Y for the tip!
