2025 Switch 2 exclusives ranked

All things considered, Nintendo Switch 2 has had a fairly strong start for its first six months on the market. While we’re still missing heavy hitters like new entries in the Animal Crossing and Super Smash Bros. franchises (and they could be years away), we’ve received several high-profile exclusives over the course of the past few months. Now that Kirby Air Riders has been out for a while, we can finally rank them all based on quality. That being said, just about all of Nintendo’s Switch 2 exclusives this year are hits, with only a few small exceptions.

As a heads-up, we’re only including fully exclusive games here, which means you won’t see Metroid Prime 4: Beyond or Pokemon Legends: Z-A (since they were developed for the original Nintendo Switch). They’re both great too, though!

This was a pretty huge week in the Nintendo world as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally released following years of anticipation. Now that the game has finally arrived, we want to know how you’re feeling about the game if you’ve started it up.

Many of you likely know about the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond journey. After it was announced in 2017 with a different studio in charge, Nintendo scrapped the entire project and rebooted the game with Retro Studios – the series’ original developer – taking over. That announcement took place at the start of 2019. Years went by, but now fans can finally see how the final product turned out.

So if you’re playing Metroid Prime 4, what are your thoughts so far? Let us know in the comments below.

Wombat Brawler is bringing Cast n Chill to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch in just a few days, the studio has announced. The game launches on December 19, 2025.

Cast n Chill is a laid-back fishing game. On Nintendo Switch 2, it features 120 FPS at 1080p resolution in handheld and TV modes plus enhanced visual effects.

A bunch of information about the game can be found in the following overview:

Mario Kart World course changes comparison

A new comparison video has come in showing off changes made to all courses in Mario Kart World following the game’s latest patch.

Version 1.4.0 dropped this week, and it was a huge update. There were some new features in there, but one of the more interesting parts involved changes for course layout in intermissions. Nintendo specifically updated “Koopa Troopa Beach” to “DK Spaceport”, “Koopa Troopa Beach” to “Crown City”, “Koopa Troopa Beach” to “Peach Stadium”, “Whistlestop Summit” to “Koopa Troopa Beach”, “Desert Hills” to “Koopa Troopa Beach”, “DK Spaceport” to “Koopa Troopa Beach”, “Crown City” to “Koopa Troopa Beach”, and “Koopa Troopa Beach”.

In a post on Nintendo’s recruitment website, notable insight was shared into the making of a boss for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Designer Takuma Tokita published the piece.

Tokita spoke about the importance of enemy design as that impacts gameplay. In making these creatures, a key focus for the developer is “visually conveying how to best an enemy’s attacks in the design.”

We won’t get into details so that we can avoid spoilers, but much of Tokita’s piece covers the game’s Fire Temple boss. We have a full translation below.

Nintendo provided even more Switch 1 backwards compatibility status updates for Switch 2 this week, including confirmation that Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition has now been fixed.

The Square Enix RPG was previously experiencing issues on the newer consoles. However, following an update, all issues have been addressed. Mega Mall Story has been fixed as well.

A new Nintendo Switch 2 launch trailer is in for Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny. Although it previously came to the original Nintendo Switch, this version features increased resolution to 1240p and 60 FPS, as well as improved lighting, particle effects, anti-aliasing, and more.

Here’s an overview of the game itself:

Ultimate Sheep Raccoon

August 7: Today, it was announced that Ultimate Sheep Raccoon is heading to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. The project will be finished and ready to go in 2026.

If you’ve played Ultimate Chicken Horse, you should keep an eye on this one. With the bike-racing party title, you and your friends build the course together.

Farm legendary machine parts Kirby Air Riders

We have a new Kirby Air Riders ready to go focusing on how you can farm Legendary Machine parts.

Anyone looking to 100 percent complete Kirby Air Riders is in for a challenge, because it’s got huge checklists for Air Ride, Top Ride, City Trial, Road Trip, and Online. You’ll need to complete them all in order to earn true 100 percent completion (plus a few other things), and thankfully many of the challenges you’ll need to clear are fairly self-explanatory. That being said, City Trial’s checklist is much more dependent on random luck and field events, meaning it’s probably going to be the one you finish last. Several of the tasks within require that you assemble Legendary Machines, of which there are four. Two of them are Dragoon and Hydra, while the other two are related to the story and are considered spoilers. We’ll be discussing them within, so keep that in mind before you continue.
