Switch 2

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for August 2025.

Looking at Nintendo Switch 2, it’s Donkey Kong Bananza still at #1. That said, multiple new games debut – including Tiny Bookshop at #2 (it’s #1 for Nintendo Switch-only), Drag x Drive at #4, Is This Seat Taken at #5, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar at #7, and UFO 50 at #9.

The full list of Europe’s top 15 downloads on the Nintendo Switch eShop for both Switch and Switch for August 2025 is as follows:

At the time of writing, Chibi-Robo is Nintendo’s latest offering in the GameCube division of Nintendo Switch Online’s emulators. Notably, this is the first time Nintendo has given any significant attention to Chibi-Robo since Zip Lash on 3DS. If you don’t know this already, Zip Lash is commonly attributed to the downfall of the entire series – it was a mediocre 2D platformer on a system with a ton of great 2D platformers, so it didn’t stand out and sold poorly as a result. Skip Ltd., the developers of the Chibi-Robo games, shut their doors soon after.

That’s why it feels important to look at the original Chibi-Robo now more than ever. It’s a very unique and charming little game, and it’s very much unlike most classic Nintendo franchises – it’s probably most similar to Pikmin, if I had to make a comparison. Regardless, today we’re talking all about the original Chibi-Robo, which you can now play via Nintendo Switch Online – but only if you have a Switch 2 and the Expansion Pack membership.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will come with new progression settings on Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix has revealed.

These options let players tweak various aspects of the game. These include having full HP at all times, always dishing out 9999 damage, and more.

One of the longest Nintendo Directs ever just took place yesterday with the September 2025 presentation. Nintendo itself presented the latest news for both Switch 2 and Switch, but third-parties chimed in as well.

From Nintendo, games that are new announcements included Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Mario Tennis Fever, Pokemon Pokopia, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Other highlights include the Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, and Metroid Prime 4 and Hyrule Wariors: Age of Imprisonment release dates. From third-parties, we saw Resident Evil Requiem (plus Resident Evil 7 and Village), Fatal Frame 2 Remake, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, and Danganronpa 2×2. This wasn’t everything, but you can catch up on it all here.

So now that the Nintendo Direct is over, how are you feeling about it? What was your favorite announcement? Let us know in the comments.

A bunch of new Switch 2 and Switch games were revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, and as a way of rounding up everything being added to major retailers, we’re setting up a dedicated post. This post will also include newly-revealed amiibo.

Here’s the full roundup:

Nintendo has updated the Japanese Switch and Switch 2 release schedule on eShop for the week of September 18, 2025. Various new titles are on the way, highlighted by Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and more.

Here’s a look at the upcoming digital download schedule:

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment Treasure Box

It doesn’t appear that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will have a special edition in the west, but in Japan, a Treasure Box has been revealed.

This will include the game as well as several extras. Players will receive a scarf, cloth poster, acrylic standee, wood keychain, and a pair of clear sheets. Although the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Treasure Box won’t be coming west, we’ll let you know if we see import pre-orders as Nintendo Switch 2 is region-free.

Donkey Kong Bananza 2.0.0 update

Going along with DLC just revealed for the game, Donkey Kong Bananza has received a new 2.0.0 update.

Support for the DLC is naturally the big feature here. On top of that though, Nintendo has increased the Banandium Chips cap to 99,999. Other unspecified changes are also included, so you’ll want to install the update when you can.

Here’s the official rundown from Nintendo;

Pokemon Home Pokemon Legends Z-A

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is confirmed for Pokemon Home support, though fans are disappointing to hear that there are significatant limitations.

There are a couple of important points to consider. First, any Pokemon you catch in Z-A can’t be brought to previous Pokemon titles (but it looks this may not apply to future games). Also, if you want to bring a Pokemon you’ve caught in an older game to Z-A, it will have to stay there forever – you can’t bring it back.

Resident Evil Requiem graphics comparison

After it was just announced for Nintendo Switch 2 today, a Resident Evil Requiem graphics comparison has already come in that puts it up against the PS5 version.

We’ll have a better idea about how the game looks and runs on Nintendo’s console, but so far, the results are fairly impressive. There are some changes here and there, but this shows that the system is capable of running current-gen titles. It’s far different from what we used to see with games that were downgraded for Nintendo Switch 1 – and many projects simply couldn’t run on the platform.
