July 2: According to a report from The Verge, Nintendo Switch 2 has a new encryption scheme and some form of dedicated encryption chip, which has broken third-party docking.
The console, of course, comes with its own dock. However, as The Verge points out, “Nintendo has also broken compatibility with portable docks that you can take on vacation or to your hotel room, and with video glasses like the Xreal One”.
Amazon offers first chance to buy Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S.

As Nintendo and Amazon continue to mend their relationship, it seems that the retailer is gearing up for its first opportunity to sell the system to customers in the United States.
You can’t purchase the console immediately, which isn’t surprising given how other retailers have handled the situation. Currently you can request an invite for the Mario Kart World bundle or the standard system. Those that register – if they’re selected – will receive an email with a link that’s valid for 22 hours. Note that if you aren’t selected during this round of invites, your request is still eligible to be selected in future rounds so you don’t need to submit another request for the next three months.
