Sonic Lost World includes a two-player racing mode. IGN shared a few details explaining how it works today.

In the mode, two players race through more difficult versions of areas found in the single-player campaign. Checkpoint gates are sprinkled throughout, and when one player passes through, both users are teleported to a mid-race starting line. Along with a small reward, the victor in the previous second earns a three-second head start.

Sonic Lost World will also sport leaderboards. These appear to go beyond simple online rankings – as the team teased to IGN – though further details are currently unavailable.

A total of 270,197 people visited this year’s Tokyo Game Show, smashing last year’s attendance record. 223,753 attendees showed up for the 2012 expo.

The full overview is as follows:

September 19 (Business Day) – 29,171 people
September 20 (Business Day) – 23,183 people
September 21 – 102,399 people
September 22 – 115,444 people

The dates for Tokyo Game Show 2014 have already been set. It’ll be held between September 18 to 21 at the Makuhari Messe.

Two Atlus games can now be published at a discount. Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and Etrian Odyssey IV have been lowered to $30 for a $10 price cut. This applies to retail as well as the 3DS eShop.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is now fully funded on Kickstarter. Just a few moments ago, the campaign’s official target hit the $400,000 total. You can expect the latest entry in the Shantae series to arrive on the Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS Vita, and PC.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will have another ten days – give or take – to reach some of its Kickstarter stretch goals. These include a “Risky Mode” at $500,000, bonus chapter at $600,000, and costume swap at $700,000.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be receiving two additional maps tomorrow. According to the official series Twitter account, “Billionaire’s Yacht” and “Dead Coast” are planned for release. Pricing information will also be shared tomorrow.
