The 3DS has managed to obtain some much-needed sales momentum following a significant price drop in Japan last week. According to Radio Nikkei, the system moved 207,000 units for the week of August 8. That’s the second best-selling week for the handheld.
Nintendo’s latest portable was priced at 25,000 yen at launch. On August 8, the price was lowered to 15,000 yen.
Starting in September, Nintendo will offer ten free NES titles to early 3DS adopters. An additional round of GBA games will be available later this year.
Hideo Kojima posted the following image on his Twitter account just a short while ago:
The important part of this photo is the Z.O.E. 3DS (okay, it’s really a backward Z, but I don’t know how to make that character on the computer.) Could Kojima really be bringing a Z.O.E. title to Nintendo’s handheld?
Just in time for the European release of Xenoblade Chronicles comes a new Wii hack created by the homebrew community. Unlike past releases, “LetterBomb” takes advantage of the Wii Message Board rather than a game to boot up the HackMii Installer and ultimately creates the Homebrew Channel on the console.
So long as you can locate your Wii’s Wi-Fi MAC address (which should be in the system settings), you should be able to download a customized zip file that can be used on your SD card for the installation process.
You can create the zip file here and read more information about the exploit here.
This is a pretty good way to piss off the Mega Man fanbase! I don’t think saying comments such as “nobody cared about that game” will go over well.
The video was a bit incomplete and it’s tough to make out some of the comments, so here’s the complete transcript from the Mega Man Legends 3 segment:
Reader mail: Capcom announced that the long-awaited Mega Man Legends 3 has been cancelled. As I type this now, fans are rallying to bring the game back.
Morgan Webb – I don’t know if I would have used “long-awaited”.
Adam – Or rallying.
Webb – The problem is that nobody cared about that game, so they decided no one would buy it, so they wouldn’t make it.
Sessler: Have fun rallying.
Thanks to Jake for the tip!
