Nintendo has already iterated a few times over that The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will release this year. But according to games industry experts, the market’s view on Nintendo could be influenced by a new Zelda title for Wii. Analysts believe that the system is in dire need of “dazzling” new titles. KBC Securities Hiroshi Kamide says that there is a great focus on Zelda for Wii due to Nintendo’s upcoming titles, which are a bit on the weak side. If there was a chance that Zelda Wii could release by Christmas, Nintendo’s console could regain momentum in the market.

With the announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Wii owners were left to face the fact that the title would not see a release on that system. Capcom had provided an initial explanation as to why that decision was made. Now, however, the company has provided further information.

“No, don’t blame Marvel. Blame the economics of retail. We’ve opted to not negotiate those rights because the economics don’t make sense, nor does it dovetail with what we feel works in the digital-only space.” – Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development
