Nintendo made a huge announcement this past week that Team Ninja is working on Metroid: Other M. However, the company is not entirely the same as it was a few years ago. Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of both Dead or Alive and 3D Ninja Gaiden titles, left the company last year. So without a doubt, Team Ninja is missing an integral key to their success. How does Itagaki feel about Other M, though? His thoughts are below.

“Metroid is a fantastic game that I played a lot on the Disk System when I was a child. I also know Mr. Sakamoto, the producer at Nintendo, very well. He fathered Samus Aran. He’s been making games since I was a child, so he’s a veteran I really respect. I think [Yosuke] Hayashi will learn a lot working with him. I hope Team Ninja works hard in making a good game.”
