Shiren 2 (Sega, DS)
– Sorry, not going to happen. We would surely lose money on Shiren 2 due to lack of interest at retail.
Knights in the Nightmare (Sting, DS) (I assume that this is Atlus’ territory though)
– You’re correct, Sting has some well-established partners already in the US so it will be up to them to decide to bring this title or not.
Winds of Nostalgio (Tecmo, DS)
– This is coming to the US, perhaps not by us but it will make it over.
Sky Crawlers (Namco, Wii)
– Seems like an interesting game, thanks for the suggestion. We’ll look into it.
Fragile (Namco, Wii)
– Seems interesting though we don’t know enough about it. We’ll keep an eye on it.
Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary (Sega, DS seems to be the preferred one, and please of course make it the fixed version!)
– We will not pursue this title. The “casual audience” this game caters to is not our strong point.
All Tales games
– We would love to work on any Tales games (especially the ones that have never made it to the US before in any form such as Rebirth and Destiny 2), but as you can imagine this is extremely difficult to license.
Questions/Responses
1. But is the Little King’s Story box art the final one, and is it the same as the not seen Japanese box artwork?
– No, we have not released the final box art to the public yet.
2. And is Rune Factory Frontier’s NA box final? Can’t you or MMV USA (who’s responcible for this?) to make it just like the JP box in placement, and then just add the sky?
– I don’t know what box art you’re talking about, but the US one will likely be similar to the Japanese.
3. One more thing? Are any of MMV’s upcoming Wii games that you’re bringing over have any NA-exclusive content, whether you can share that or not is fine.
– We always try for exclusive US content, but oftentimes it’s difficult due to scheduling issues. Nothing has been confirmed yet.

Atari has let loose a few of their 2009 titles, and of course, Ghostbusters is high on the list. One of the main elements that distinguishes the Wii version is motion controls, though there are no plans to have Wii MotionPlus supported for the game. On the bright side, there are still plenty of reasons to purchase Ghostbusters, and perhaps MotionPlus could be utilized in future iterations of Ghostbusters games.
“One of the key features in MadWorld is the base storyline and the world we’re trying to create: the Death Watch game show and Jack’s involvement with it. And that naturally gravitates toward a single-player game. The second part of the answer is that for the actual gameplay mechanics, we wanted the kind of game that someone can just throw a lot of time into and sort of forget about what time it is — just get in there and start playing until they feel full, and then stop so they can pick it up again later on. We wanted something that’s really involved and in-depth for the player, so that also gravitates toward a single-player experience.” – Atsushi Inaba, MadWorld producer
“I’m just sort of wondering what you could possibly do with it [the Wii balance board]. Maybe stomping on it and smashing a dude or something? Probably not.” – Atsushi Inaba, MadWorld producer
“One of the things that we haven’t revealed much of yet is the actual storyline. We have a great storyline, I think. And when we reveal that, for some it may drastically change how they view the game.” – Atsushi Inaba, MadWorld producer
I don’t really believe that balance board support would be a viable option for this game. Stomping on objects and enemies might be fun for awhile, but it would probably end up being more tiresome.

If the latest rumor from EGM/Quartermann are to be believed, Dragon Quest IX will not only release for the Nintendo DS, but for the Wii as well. The rumor guesses that the mode would work similarly to the Pollux Engine for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time for the Wii/DS. The question is, will there be any graphical change from the DS to Wii?
Here’s the official description of the rumor:
“While Dragon Quest IX being announced for the DS rather than a home console was a big enough surprise in the first place, fans of the long-running series were even more shocked to discover that this latest entry will sport faster-paced gameplay and a surprising MMO-lite option to play with up to four friends. Assuming this multiplayer mode works similarly to the DS-and-Wii-linking Echoes of Time, it makes sense that Square would bring DQIX to the console as well. The only question that remains is whether or not the Wii port will receive a graphical upgrade — the Wii and DS versions of the new Crystal Chronicles are going to be identical, after all. Hopefully Square will confirm this news soon and give us more details.”
“The decision to suspend N•Revolution has been taken because it has become increasingly obvious that Nintendo’s strategy for Wii and DS is no longer in line with Imagine Publishing’s target readership, and has moved increasingly away from the hardcore gaming community that is our specialty. With many new launches and especially acquisitions coming to fruition, we believe the resources and manpower are better spent in other markets where advertising revenue and PR support are stronger and sustained. Imagine will continue to drive purchases of Nintendo software with games™, Retro Gamer and our new multiformat videogames website, NowGamer.com, and we hope to work closely with Nintendo in the future on those magazines.” – N•Revolution managing director Damian Butt
“There are no current plans to bring this [Today and Tomorrow’s Lucky Fortune Telling Channel] to Europe.” – Nintendo statement
That’s actually a shame since this channel seemed to be pretty neat. I expect that the channel will not be available in North America either, but we’ll have to wait and see I suppose.
