It wasn’t a good sign that some of the most important staff members were leaving Retro, but this should be an indication that the company will remain intact.
Okay, this might not have been the best way to analyze the winner for this console generation. As many may have assumed at this point, this data was collected by Google Fights. The Wii does, however, has the most pages on Google according to this service, followed by the PS3 and Xbox 360 in that order. To be honest, I don’t think there will ever be a real way to declare a winner, especially with all of the arguments between each side, but hopefully things like this will lighten the situation for video gaming fans.

In this month’s issue of Nintendo Power, it became clear that people want to see Earthbound on the Virtual Console. Perhaps we’re one step closer to seeing this happen, as the ESRB has rated the game. At this point however, I would be cautiously optimistic, as previous games that have been rated on the ESRB have yet to see a release.
Lost in Blue, which has seen plenty of iterations on the Nintendo DS, is finally migrating to Nintendo’s newest console. Confirmed by a Konami website, Lost in Blue on the Wii will apparently allow another player to join in on the surviving fun – a fresh concept to the series – though the specifics of two-player action are unknown. Other information including a release date is also up in the air, but as always, it is expected that new details will be available shortly.
“Mr. Miyamoto, the inventor of Mii, himself has been saying that, “In a sense, licensing Mii is same as licensing Mario – Nintendo should grant the license when we can conclude that the proposed project is worthwhile. Should we allow any and all the licensees to use Mii license for whichever projects, Mii’s brand image will be hurt. Because we are not granting Mario license to any and all, we should not do so with Mii either. This is the current policy of Nintendo. So, at the software development stage, we are consulting with the developers as to how they would like to make use of Mii, and our Licensing Department handles on a case-by-case basis.” -Satoru Iwata
I can’t blame Nintendo for wanting to make sure developers don’t ruin the the image of Mii characters, but it’s undeniable that there haven’t been too many titles that support the use of Miis except for a few games.
