Curse of the Sea Rats update 1.3.7

Curse of the Sea Rats has issued its latest update, and version 1.3.7 is now available.

The update improves the combat system with animation cancelling, slicker controls, hit box, and attack range tweaks. Players will also find an updated map UI, pitfall deaths have been disabled, and the end game has been changed for a smoother experience.

A new update for Curse of the Sea Rats is now available with players having access to version 1.1.2.

This patch is all about addressing issues players experienced. On top of that, there are some adjustments including balance changes.

Curse of the Sea Rats trailer

PQube and Petoons Studio have shared a launch trailer for Curse of the Sea Rats, their new Metroidvania adventure. This one just joined the lineup of games on Switch today.

Ahead of its release on Switch next week, gameplay footage of “ratoidvania” Curse of the Sea Rats has appeared online. Nearly twenty five minutes of footage is available for viewing.

Curse of the Sea Rats bosses

PQube and Petoons Studio today shared a final release date for Curse of the Sea Rats, and we also have a new bosses trailer.

Curse of the Sea Rats was originally planned for 2019. However, it has been delayed a couple of times. Most recently, in September, it was pushed back to early 2023.

PQube and Petoons Studio shared an update on Curse of the Sea Rats today, and we now have a closer look at the title’s characters. We’re introduced to David Douglas, Buffalo Calf, Bussa, and Akane Yamakawa.

Curse of the Sea Rats delayed physical

Curse of the Sea Rats has been delayed, with publisher PQube sharing a new early 2023 release window for the game. We also have confirmation that a physical version is planned.

Regarding the decision to push the title back, PQube said the team “will be using this time to improve balancing and performance, and to add voiceover to enhance the story of the final game.”

After Petoons Studio announced its hand-drawn “ratoidvania” Curse of the Sea Rats last August, the game has reemerged with a new trailer. We’ve included it below.

Petoons Studio also opened a Kickstarter campaign for Curse of the Sea Rats today so that it can bring in additional artists for the hand-drawn characters and animations. Things couldn’t have gone much better, as the €15,000 goal has already been met. You can contribute on Kickstarter here.
