Downwell

Downwell will be sold physically on Switch, Special Reserve Games have announced. It will be available to order starting September 17.

Only 5,000 physical copies of Downwell for Switch will be produced.

Downwell arrives today on the Switch eShop. To celebrate, Devolver Digital published a launch trailer, which we have below.

Devolver Digital is publishing another game on Switch this week in the form of Downwell. Take a look at some footage below.

It was roughly a year ago that we heard about Downwell creator Ojiro Fumoto joining Nintendo. That relationship didn’t last terribly long, with Fumoto confirming that he’s already gone from the company. He’s returning to his roots and becoming an indie developer once again.

The good news is that Fumoto left on his own terms and the two sides still have an amicable relationship. He wrote on Twitter that working at Nintendo was “an incredible experience”.

Devolver Digital has set a release date for the Switch version of Downwell. Thanks to the company’s Discord channel, we have confirmation that it’ll arrive on January 31.

The Messenger

Special Reserve Games has revealed an extended partnership with Devolver Digital that will result in three new physical releases. Downwell, The Messenger, and Minit will all be sold physically. Thus far, the latter two have only been available as digital downloads, with the same having been previously announced for Downwell.

No word yet on when the physical versions are launching, but we’ll keep you updated. They’ll be ready to go sometime in 2019.

Downwell is coming to Switch, Devolver Digital and Moppin revealed during today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct. It wasn’t in the overseas version of the presentation, but expect a worldwide release.

Devolver has also followed up with confirmation that tate mode will be supported.
