Guacamelee dev announces “Severed”, may hit Wii U and 3DS

Guacamelee developer DrinkBox Studios has announced “Severed”, a new title set for release next year. The studio has shown some interest in possibility bringing the game to Wii U as well as 3DS. We won’t cover this too extensively until we have official confirmations for Nintendo platforms, but you can check out some details in the source link below.

At GDC last week, NintendoWorldReport spoke with animator Augusto Quijano and co-founders Chris Harvey and Ryan MacLean from DrinkBox Studios. The three touched on what the Wii U version of Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition will offer and how it came to be, the possibility of a 3DS port, and more.

It turns out that DrinkBox is not directly involved with the creation of Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition on Wii U. Instead, Chasing Aurora developer Broken Rules is handling the port.
DrinkBox revealed on Twitter a few moments ago:

Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition revealed, coming to Wii U

DrinkBox has announced a new version of its hit indie title “Guacamelee”. Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition is in the works for Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and it’s apparently “coming soon.”
The upgraded release of Guacamelee will feature all previous DLC packaged together and expands the original story with new levels and boss battles. DrinkBox is also including new abilities for the game’s playable characters.
