Shin’en trying to push the Wii U hardware with FAST Racing Neo

Shin’en’s Manfred Linzner provided a very brief update about FAST Racing Neo while speaking with Mii-Gamer in a recent interview.
Linzer acknowledged that fans “really want to see the game”, but the studio will only have one opportunity to show FAST Racing Neo for the first time and make a strong impression. He also mentioned that the team “knew there was so much more possible on Wii U than anyone showed so far”, and they’re trying to “push the hardware.”

FAST Racing Neo will run at 60FPS
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 4 Comments
Much of FAST Racing Neo is still shrouded in mystery, but developer Shin’en did recently share one tidbit about the game on Twitter. The studio said that its racer will run at 60 frames per second – something that should definitely make FAST look smooth on Wii U.
Shin’en’s tweet is as follows:
@MaxWill37699872 Finally getting all beautiful visuals in stable 60fps. Looked impossible when we started.

Art of Balance and FAST Racing Neo are using Shin’en’s second-gen Wii U engine
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 4 Comments
Several months ago, Shin’en revealed that the company was hard at work on its second-generation engine for Wii U. Both of the studio’s upcoming titles for the console – Art of Balance and FAST Racing Neo – are taking advantage of the upgraded tech, Manfred Linzer confirmed to us.
Linzer, CEO of Shin’en, said that the two games are actually just using “a subset of our new engine”. However, “we are pretty happy with the results,” he told us.
Linzer explained, “With FRN we wanted to get more realism. That was not possible with our old tech. So we implemented a lot of new stuff that allows us to get there. We are still learning but we think we are on a good way to create a really special Wii U game.”
While Art of Balance and FAST Racing Neo are taking advantage of the new engine, “Art of Balance is more on the ‘stylized’ side and FAST more on the realism side.”
We are sworn to secrecy regarding the engine’s capabilities, but know that Shin’en has managed to implement a number of improvements and a few new graphical effects. Some of these were previously used “in an ad hoc way, and not in a unified system.” According to Linzer, “Now everything blends nicely together which we need to get on a new level.”

FAST Racing Neo content coming next year
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 3 Comments
Shin’en casually announced FAST Racing Neo a few weeks ago. Soon after, the game dropped off the radar.
Neo’s announcement came without any sort of information or media. This begs the question: when will we actually see something pertaining to the game?
Unfortunately, Shin’en intends to keep us waiting a bit longer. The studio will be sharing content starting next year.
Shin’en’s Manfred Linzner told Pretendo:
In 2014. We currently optimize the local multiplayer part and it seems as we can go far beyond what we have done previously.

Shin’en: FAST Racing Neo will offer “hyper real graphics”
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 3 Comments
@GoldMetalSonic Since FRN we use 4-8k textures. Means hyper real graphics but 16x storage. Happy this is no prob on WiiU eShop 🙂

Shin’en is set out again to impress from a technical standpoint. The studio said on Twitter earlier today that FAST Racing Neo – the studio’s second Wii U eShop title – will feature “hyper real graphics”. That’s thanks to the use of 4,000 – 8,000 textures.

Shin’en is advising fans to watch tomorrow’s European Nintendo Direct. The company posted the following message on Twitter just a short while ago:
Seriously, anyone should check out the tomorrow #NintendoDirectEU.
— Shin'en Multimedia (@ShinenGames) November 12, 2013
If I was a guessing man, I’d surmise that FAST Racing Neo and/or Jett Rocket II will be featured on tomorrow’s presentation.
