Limited Run Games has opened pre-orders for the physical version of Aegis Defenders. If you’re interested, you can secure a copy here.
Note that only standard units are available this time around. Limited RUn isn’t offering any sort of special edition or collector’s edition.

Ahead of its February 8 release date, Aegis Defenders has received a new trailer. You can watch the video below.
You’ll notice that the trailer confirms that Shovel Knight is joining the game. Separately, GUTS Department has confirmed that split Joy-Con local multiplayer will be supported, allowing players to use a single controller as part of the drop-in at anytime cooperative play.
Humble Bundle publishing Aegis Defenders on Switch

Aegis Defenders is coming to Switch, a listing on the North American Switch eShop reveals. Humble Bundle should be publishing the GUTS Department-developed game on February 8 for $19.99. You can actually pre-load it right now.
Aegis Defenders has you playing as a team of Ruinhunters who are searching for the legendary weapon known as the Aegis to save their village. The title itself features a mix of action-platformer and tower defense strategy gameplay.

Aegis Defenders Kickstarter has a Wii U stretch goal

Aegis Defenders, a new 16-bit tactical platformer from GUTS Department, has a chance of coming to Wii U. The game’s Kickstarter will need to hit $150,000 for this to happen.
Although raising such a high amount may seem unrealistic, Aegis Defenders’ Kickstarter did manage to collect nearly $40,000 in its first day. There’s also over a month remaining in the campaign.
