During the Wii era, High Voltage was a prominent name that often came up when talking about core titles on the console. The studio developed The Conduit series, and had at one point planned another gritty shooter in the form of The Grinder.
Taking notice of High Voltage’s work and commitment to its platforms, Nintendo reached out to the team in hopes of working together on a new shooter for Wii U. Did You Know Gaming? and Liam Robertson have today revealed details about the project, which was ultimately cancelled following a leak.

During the Wii era, High Voltage Software really made a name for itself. Third-person shooters and mature titles weren’t overly prevalent on the system, so the studio wanted to step in and fill the void. High Voltage saw some success with The Conduit, but had also promised another Wii shooter that never saw the day of light – that being The Grinder.
Liam Robertson and Unseen64 have taken a deep dive into the history of the first-person horror shooter and its development, including why it was eventually cancelled. You can watch the full report below.

High Voltage working on 3DS version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

High Voltage Software, makers of the Conduit games, are working on the 3DS version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. That’s according to a page on Nintendo’s website, which lists the studio as the game’s developer.
This is a bit of a change compared to how Spider-Man entries on the 3DS have been handled in the past. Previously, Beenox created Spider-Man: Edge of Time and the first Amazing Spider-Man for Nintendo’s portable. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be the first 3DS title not developed by Beenox.
