Rocket League’s Tournaments Update with Switch improvements going live in April

Next month, Rocket League will be getting its next big update. Psyonix shared new details on what’s to come with the Tournaments Update today.
Once the update drops, players will be able to create and join in-game tournaments, restrict entry into tournaments by minimum and maximum Competitive Rank, and more. The patch will also contain the following additions and improvements:

Rocket League hosting Spring Fever event starting next week

A new update is out now for Rocket League on Switch. Psyonix is officially calling it version 1.42, though Switch shows it as version 1.0.4.
In any case, we have the full patch notes below. Along with the DC Super Heroes DLC, bug fixes have been implemented.

Rocket League update dropping next week (version 1.42)

Psyonix has announced that a new Rocket League update will be going live next week. Version 1.42 will be adding the DC super Heroes DLC as well as implementing bug fixes.
The latest update will be out on March 5 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM in the UK / 7 PM in Europe. When we have the full patch notes, we’ll share them on the site.

Rocket League adding WWE items this spring

Psyonix has established a new partnership that will see the addition of WWE items in Rocket League, the studio announced today. Items will be available sometime this spring. Specifics are being kept under wraps for now, but more information will be shared in the future.
Rocket League will be playable at WrestleMania 34 in April. Other aspects of the partnership include Rocket League sponsorships at live WWE events.

Psyonix and Monstercat to release new music in Rocket League this year

Psyonix and Monstercat and working together once again on new music for Rocket League. Four playlists are planned for release this year.
The Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 1 playlist has already been featured in-game. For the Spring Feature Update, Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 2 playlist will be launching, followed by three additional playlists throughout the year. Psyonix says “all of the playlists will be shorter, EP length releases, to provide new, diverse music all year long.”

Rocket League adds DC Super Heroes DLC Pack in March

New DC Comics DLC is being added to Rocket League next month, Psyonix has announced. The DC Super Heroes DLC Pack will include the ’89 Batmobile as well as the The Dark Knight Rises Tumbler.
Of course, other DLC is included as well. Here’s the full lineup of customization items:
– Aquaman — Decal (Breakout), and Player Banner
– Batman — Decal (Paladin), and Player Banner
– Cyborg — Decal (Roadhog), and Player Banner
– Flash — Speed Force Boost, Wheels, Decal (Venom), and Player Banner
– Green Arrow — Decal (Hotshot), and Player Banner
– Green Lantern — Decal (Merc), and Player Banner
– Superman — Decal (Octane), and Player Banner
– Wonder Woman — Wheels, Decal (X-Devil), and Player Banner
– DC Comics — Player Banner

Psyonix and Hot Wheels announce new Rocket League RC toy set

Thanks to a partnership between Psyonix and Hot Wheels, fans will be able to purchase the new Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals Set this fall. It features Bluetooth-connected Octane and Dominus Battle-Cars that players will control using smart devices.
The partnership between Psyonix and Hot Wheels also extends to Rocket League itself. The two sides will be introducing new Hot Wheels DLC into the game.
We’ll be hearing more on the Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals Set and the partnership between Psyonix and Hot Wheels in 2018 later this year.

New Rocket League toys out in March, in-game item included with Super Rare Clip-On

Psyonix has partnered with Zag Toys for a new wave of Rocket League toys. The Rocket League Light-Up Clip-Ons will begin appearing in the US starting in March for $5.99 each. They’ll be sold at various retailers including GameStop, Target, Walmart, Toys “R” Us”, and online specialty stores.
Octane, Dominus, Breakout, Takumi, Endo, Backfire, Ripper, and Road Hog are the new toys, along with a ninth mystery Super Rare model. You might also be interested to hear that an in-game redemption code is included with the Super Rare Clip-On for the brand new Z-Plate Wheels – pictured below.

Psyonix outlines upcoming plans for Rocket League – Switch graphical modes this spring

Psyonix posted a comprehensive update today outlining the various features and updates in store for Rocket League. One point applies specifically to Switch.
This spring, Rocket League will be updated on Switch to support two graphical modes. The first is Performance Mode, which is 900p when docked and 720p in handheld mode at 60 frames per second with infrequent dynamic resolution scaling. If that doesn’t interest you, Quality Mode will offer native 1080p docked and 720p portable resolution at 30 frames per second with added visual effects.
