Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power

Trine Ultimate Collection

VGP is launching the exclusive Trine Ultimate Collection Switch physical release, the retailer has announced.

All four games in the series will be sold on a single cartridge. The first three games were previously available as a GameStop exclusive, but that now goes for over $200 on the reseller market. Trine 4 was also sold physically by itself and in a bundle with the previous three games which were downloads. To reiterate, this is the first time that all of the game will be available together physically.

Starting today, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power is available to purchase on Switch digitally. View some footage in the video below.

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will launch for Switch on July 29, Frozenbyte announced today. The initial release will take place on the eShop.

Here’s an overview of the 3D platformer, along with a trailer:

Trine Enchanted Edition was added to the Switch eShop last November. Today, developer Frozenbyte provided an update on the next two entries in the series.

Trine 2: Complete Story is due out for Switch on February 18 at a price point of $16.99 / €16.99 / £15.29. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will follow “soon”. And if that wasn’t enough, the entire series will be released physically as a GameStop exclusive this spring.

It was recently revealed that Trine 4 is coming to Switch. So it makes sense then that past games in the series will make their way to Nintendo’s console, starting today.

Frozenbyte announced that the initial Trine games are all bound for Switch. Trine Enchanted Edition launches today with Trine 2: Complete Story and Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power coming “soon after, with exact release dates still to be announced.” BlitWorks is working on the ports.

Trine 3 has never made it to a Nintendo platform. That could be changing soon though, as the game has been rated for Switch over in Germany.

Ratings aren’t always indicative of confirmed releases. However, they often point to future plans, so developer Frozenbyte likely has something planned.
