Virtuos

Nintendo Switch

Virtuos has been involved with many different projects. Aside from porting titles like L.A. Noire, the company has also been involved with helping others make games from the system – like Starlink: Battle for Atlas.

Virtuos isn’t showing any signs of slowing down in the future, and there seems to be more in store for the future. In an interview with Nintendo Life, VP of games division Elijah Freeman teased:

The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds is coming to Switch, Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment have announced. Virtuos is working on the port.

Here’s an overview of the single-player sci-fi RPG, along with a trailer:

Now that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age has arrived on new platforms, Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the RPG from a technical perspective. We’re able to see how the Switch version holds up against the Xbox One release.

First up, Final Fantasy XII is just 12GB on Switch. That’s in comparison to the file size of 26GB for the Xbox One version. The two versions are very similar, and the only notable different on Switch is that there are some lower resolution textures.

Since the Switch’s launch two years ago, a few companies have become associated with porting games to the system. One such example is Virtuos. Virtuos has helped bring over L.A. Noire, Dark Souls Remastered, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and more.

Speaking with EDGE last month, Virtuos Shanghai general manager Elijah Freeman said that the studio’s games have done “exceptionally well” – not only critically, but also commercially. Freeman added that the success has led to more opportunities, and believes things will pick up even more after Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster launch on Switch.
