WrestleQuest launch trailer

A final launch trailer has emerged for WrestleQuestAfter previous delays, the game has now been made available on Switch and other platforms.

Below is an official overview with more information:

Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games have just announced that their upcoming wrestling RPG WrestleQuest will be getting delayed to August 22. The game was supposed to release tomorrow, August 8.

The companies disclosed that a major bug was found in the launch version of the game, making it possible for players playing the game on multiple different devices to lose their save game progress when doing so. The game is thus getting delayed a couple of weeks so this bug can be fixed.

You can take a look at the full delay announcement below:

WrestleQuest release date

A new release date has been set for WrestleQuest. Today, Skybound and Mega Cat Studios confirmed it’s heading to Switch on August 8, 2023.

WrestleQuest was previously on track to arrive this month. However, the team ended up pushing the launch back – you can find more information about that here. After the delay, WrestleQuest was given a general Summer 2023 launch window.

WrestleQuest delayed

WrestleQuest fans will need to wait a bit longer for the game, and it’s now been delayed to Summer 2023. It was previously planned for Switch this month. A final release date should be provided by the end of May.

In a statement, the team said it “secured a new partnership” that “resulted in certain issues outside of our control”. The delay decision was said to be “is the right choice with respect to our players”.

WrestleQuest release window

WrestleQuest is one step closer to launch, as the title now has a release month. Publisher Skybound Games and developer Mega Cat Studios confirmed today that it will drop in May 2023.

WrestleQuest, a wrestling RPG, was announced for Switch earlier this year. We have further information in the following overview:

WrestleQuest combat

Skybound Games and Mega Cat Studios published another trailer for WrestleQuest today, and this time around we have a look at combat.

The title largely features turn-based battles, but players can hit some well-timed button prompts to determine the success rate of an attack. After their opponent takes enough damage, they’ll then need to trigger some button presses in time with a moving meter a few times in a row to win the match.

WrestleQuest preview

2017’s Golf Story proved that there is a market for sports-themed RPGs, and Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest is attempting to bring a similar style of retro-themed gameplay and role-playing to the sport of wrestling (or wrasslin’, if you prefer). Rather than taking a serious simulation-focused approach, WrestleQuest leans hard into the absurdity and humor that often takes place in the sport in real life and cranks it all up as high as possible. I had a chance to check out the game at Summer Game Fest recently, and although I don’t yet have a full sense for just how deep WrestleQuest’s RPG mechanics will go, wrestling fans will certainly find a lot to love here.

WrestleQuest takes the concept of idolizing one’s heroes to a literal interpretation, as the protagonist of the game – Muchacho Man – lives in a world where there are giant statues of famous wrestlers scattered all over the place. If you’re familiar with the major names in the history of modern wrestling – Macho Man Savage, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake, etc. – you’ll run across quite a few cameos in the game that you can interact with in some capacity. These real-life athletes act as the main protagonist’s guiding sources of inspiration as he tries to get his wrestling career up and running.
