Xenoblade Chronicles 2

A new update has just gone live for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. You can now access version 1.5.2.

The main highlights are the additions of Elma and Corvin, who were just revealed today. After defeating Elma in Challenge Mode’s Otherworldly Fighter, she can be used as a Blade. Corvin is in as a Rare Blade for Expansion Pass owners.

Below are the full patch notes:

Elma returning from Xenoblade Chronicles X wasn’t today’s only big news for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Also announced, Nintendo has given a first look at an entirely new Rare Blade. The name was a bit difficult to make out, but it sounds something like “Marvin”.

Nintendo says that this is a powerful Blade that can use the Smash status. It’ll be included as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass.

Update: We’ve clipped out Elma’s trailer below.

Original: Much in the way that Shulk and Fiora from the original Xenoblade Chronicles returned in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X will be returning in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Nintendo gave a first look in a new gameplay video today.

Nintendo hasn’t truly explained how Elma will be appearing. However, the trailer did show Rex and crew battling her as well as the character being used as a Blade.

Nintendo of Europe has prepared a brand new gameplay video for Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. Check out the video below.

Nintendo and Monolith Soft aren’t finished covering Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. We have another character introduction today, this time covering Torna’s actual King.

Here’s his bio:

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have returned with yet another character introduction for Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. Today, we’re able to learn about Milt.

Here’s his brief introduction:

Today, the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Twitter account shines the spotlight on another character in the upcoming Torna – The Golden Country DLC: Mihkail. If you’ve played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, you will of course be familiar with Mikhail as one of the members of Torna, the organisation opposing Rex and friends. In The Golden Country, however, he is much younger. An orphan, he meets Lora in a place ravaged by war, and the two of them end up traveling together.

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have returned with another look at Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. For today’s entry, we’re given a brief introduction to Gormott – a Titan from the original game who is coming back, but will be slightly different.

Here’s our translation:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country will allow players to revisit some areas from the original game, but they’ll be a bit different this time around since the setting takes place 500 years earlier. Additionally, an entirely new Titan will be included: the appropriately-named Torna.

Over on the official Japanese Twitter account, a brief translation was given for Torna. We have the translation below:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country will be handling battles a bit differently than in the base game. Your team will consist of one driver and two blades, and team’s members are fixed in battle.

Lora is paired with Jin and Haze. Addam will be able to use Mythra and Minoth. Finally, Hugo has Brighid and Aegaeon.

Here’s a look at the different setups:
