Tetris 99 announces 34th Maximus Cup with Pikmin 4 theme

Tetris 99 will host its 34th Maximus Cup soon featuring Pikmin 4 as a new theme, Nintendo just announced.
Any Nintendo Switch Online member can participate by playing the game’s online mode during the event period. Players can earn points based on their placement in each match. Once you hit 100 points, the theme will be unlocked. The theme includes background art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by Pikmin 4.
Nintendo tends to celebrate the game releases with special events in Tetris 99. It took a bit of time, but there was one dedicated to Kirby’s Return to Dream Land back in April. We also saw Fire Emblem Engage get an event earlier in the year. While things have slowed down, it’s nice to see that Nintendo is still supporting the game after such a lengthy period.
The 34th Maximus Cup in Tetris 99 with the Pikmin 4 theme will be held between July 7 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET and July 10 at 11:59 PM PT / July 11 at 2:59 AM ET. Get a look at an official trailer below.
