Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada is making a 3DS game and is also hoping to bring a new project to Wii U. Wada, who now owrks for Grasshopper, wasn’t ready to share details just yet.

“I’ve got a 3DS game in the pipeline right now, and I’ve got another game that we haven’t decided the platform on, but which I am hoping to bring to Wii U.”

Wada also seems positive about the console as a whole. He compared it to the DS, like many other developers, adding that Wii U contains “a lot of hidden potential”.

“Right now it feels like a home console version DS and I mean that in a good way. I think there is a lot of hidden potential there, so I am right now thinking up new modes of play. I really enjoy times like this!”

Update: There are some reports that the new firmware also adds colors for the StreetPass feature in 3DS Sound. The Internet browser has also received a new version, though it isn’t clear if it brings any new functionality.

A new 3DS firmware update is available for download for all system owners. Although the upgrade doesn’t add any significant functionality, users must apply the new software in order to access features such as system transfers. Nintendo describes the update as “further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”

The last major update for the 3DS was released on June 6, which added the eShop, Internet browser, and system transfer tool. Firmware 2.1.0-3U was issued a little more than a week later to fix an issue with Ridge Racer 3D.

The latest firmware is 2.1.0-4U. As the menu name suggests, it’s not a significant upgrade.
