First off, I want to make a quick note of our Goldeneye contest- great support so far! I’ll take article submissions for a few more days (the ones I’ve gotten so far are fantastic!), but the commenting piece of the contest ends tomorrow! Best of luck to all of you!

I’m a proud Wii owner. Even with a lot of my friends making fun of the system and talking of the betrayal by Nintendo, I stick by that cheap little white piece of plastic like it’s my conjoined twin. Why? Because I love it, I love the games, and I love Nintendo. There is really nothing like beating a Zelda game, nothing like traversing tens of levels in a Mario Bros. game, nothing like exploring the emptiness of the sci-fi Metroid world, and nothing like bringing some friends together for some of the fun that can be had with the various local co-op games Nintendo brings to the table. It is for these reasons that I think many hardcore gamers own the Wii and own it proudly; we love our system, and want it to be treated with the same respect that the other systems get. We expect that a third party developer won’t announce a Wii exclusive game, and then port it to other systems, water down their Wii games to “appeal” to us, or cancel Wii versions of games due to system limitations.

Update: Game Night is now over! Congratulations to Ronin for winning the first copy of GoldenEye 007!

Remember guys, tonight is the night where whoever has the most points goes home with a copy of the soon-to-be-released GoldenEye 007, so get your trigger fingers ready! We’ll be playing The Conduit, so hop into the IRC, pop your disc in, and let the games begin.

Tonight is your last chance to enter the contest! Make sure you post a comment or send a feature our way!

BLAM. Get shot.

I think I’d be hard pressed to find someone on this site who didn’t have at least a passing interest in the upcoming Wii-exclusive game GoldenEye 007, which is why I’m so very pleased to announce that we have an extraordinary opportunity in our hands right now. Activision (the game’s publisher) was nice enough to send us guys at NE three copies of the upcoming first person shooter, but instead of keeping them for ourselves (like we’d do if we were smart >:D), we’re giving away all three copies to three lucky winners here on the site!

Hit up the break for the nitty-gritty details on what you can do to snag yourself a free copy (shipping and handling fully paid!) of this massive re-make!

Thanks to Disney Interactive PR for the screens/photos!

Just a forewarning for those of you who are interested: Game night will be happening at the regular time (6PM CST, 7PM EST, 4PM PST) tomorrow (which is technically today, if you’re where I am), so power up those Wiis and get ready for some remarkably entertaining gaming!

I haven’t decided what to play just yet. Any suggestions?

~Austin

That is correct, guys: On this day in Japan, 1889, the original toy-making wonder-company Nintendo was founded, and the whole dream of video gaming began. Of course, it wasn’t until 1975 that they actually turned into a video entertainment company, but still, it’s pretty cool that they got their roots all the way back in the 1800s!

Congratulations to Nintendo, and here’s to another 121!

Remember how I said these were technically GamingEverything AND NintendoEverything podcasts? Well, they aren’t anymore! These are 100% NintendoEverything podcasts from now on. Though, I’ll admit, there’s not too much different if you listened to previous podcasts aside from what news we cover. Regardless:

Download/listen to the podcast here!

This show we just cover some general stuff about Nintendo. I don’t think I’ll be the first to say it’s not the best we can do, but hey, it’s Nintendo, and it’s a podcast. Have at it, and post any questions you may have for us here!
