There are lots of Call of Duty: Black Ops II updates to be had ahead of the game’s official reveal later today.

First up, the official website for Black Ops 2 has opened. You can access it here. Unconfirmed screenshots are here. Most content is currently unavailable, though that will definitely change sometime tonight.

The site does contain the following description of the title:

“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”

Now… one point about this: the game lists PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of Black Ops II. As usual, we have no idea if it’ll be coming to a Nintendo platform. It wasn’t until August that we found out about Modern Warfare III for Wii. And if there is a Wii U version in the works, it’s possible Activision will keep quiet until E3.

The Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed announcement isn’t even a day old, yet we’re getting quite a few hints that there will be a Wii U version of the game. After hearing that more platform confirmations could be on the way, producer Joe Neate continued to tease the possibility of bringing the project to Nintendo’s upcoming console.

Kingdom Hearts 3D has been out in Japan for a few weeks. That means it’s time to start thinking about the next game in the series. No… really, we’re not kidding!

The Kingdom Hearts 3D edition of the Square Enix’s “Ultimania” book has arrived in Japan, and it contains some interesting tidbits with Tetsuya Nomura. Most notably, Nomura said that they’ll be ready to make an announcement sometime in the near future.

Will Square Enix reveal another spinoff? A true sequel to Kingdom Hearts II? Let us know what you think!

When it comes to full retail game downloads on Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo won’t be leaving third-parties out in the cold. The company has a program in the works for other publishers to take advantage of their digital options on both platforms. Unsurprisingly though, they’re keeping quiet on the specifics.

Nintendo provided the following statement regarding third-party downloads for Wii U and 3DS:

“We are currently preparing a program for third parties but have nothing specific to announce at this time.”

Amazon has added in a July 6 release date for One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP 2. That date could be final – it’s a Friday – but we can’t say for sure until we receive a confirmation.

La-Mulana will not be released on the North American and European Wii Shop Channels. That’s according to Nicalis, who shared the news on its Twitter account.

The studio said:

“Regarding La-Mulana, we have chosen to cancel publishing in North America and Europe for WiiWare. …We’ve waited, too. We’re sorry to have to announce, but we’ve waited for them to finish the game for over two years.”

La-Mulana was originally created for the PC in 2005. The WiiWare version was announced nearly three years ago. The game did make it out on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel, but it’s truly a shame North America/European Wii owners won’t be able to experience the game.
