Shin’en is probably best known for its contributions in the shoot ’em up space thanks to its work on the Iridion, Nanostray, and Nano Assault games. But the studio also has experience in the racing genre having created FAST – Racing League for WiiWare.

Some fans have wondered about the possibility of Shin’en developing a new F-Zero for Wii U based on the company’s pedigree as a Nintendo developer and efforts on FAST. If Nintendo were to approach Shin’en about creating a new entry in the classic racing series, however, the studio would likely decline. That’s because they “feel like having first to achieve our own legendary games.”

Capcom announced Ultra Street Fighter IV this past weekend. It brings along five new playable characters, six new stages, balancing updates, and more.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though the Wii U will be getting in on the fighting action. Street Fighter executive producer Yoshinori Ono wrote on Twitter yesterday that there aren’t any plans to bring the game to Nintendo’s home console.

If there’s one developer that has praised the Wii U’s technical specs more than any other, it would be Shin’en. The developer has consistently stuck up for the hardware’s GPU in particular. Just a few months ago, Shin’en said that the GPU “is several generations ahead of the current gen.”

Writing on Twitter yesterday, Shin’en once again had high praise for this aspect of the Wii U. The company sent out a couple of tweets stating that the “Wii U GPU and its API are straightforward”, adding how it possesses “plenty of high bandwidth memory” and is “easy” to use.

Leaks from the latest issue of Jump have revealed “Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal: Clash Duel Carnival” for the 3DS. It’s a card-battling game featuring over 5,500 cards and more than 40 playable characters. The new 3DS title will be available in Japan in winter 2013.
