Nintendo responds to “guilty” verdict in patent infringement case

The jury’s verdict will not impact Nintendo’s continued sales in the United States of its highly acclaimed line of video game hardware, software and accessories, including the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others.”

As expected, Nintendo will be appealing the decision and trying to get it reversed. None of us are law professors or lawyers (probably– maybe one of you will surprise me), so it would be hard for us to comment on exactly whether this is a fair decision or not. If they are guilty, it’ll be the first time in quite a while that Nintendo will have lost a lawsuit!
Famitsu readers rank the top games of 2012

Famitsu published a lengthy roundup of its readers’ top games of 2012 in its latest issue. Users have been sending in ratings between 1 and 10 on a weekly basis, and the results were finally compiled by the magazine this week.

Disney Infinity delayed, now set for August

Disney Infinity won’t be making its original June release. The game has been pushed back to August 18 in North America while most internetional territories will be getting it on August 20. A confirmed date of August 23 has been set for the UK.
Speaking about the decision to move Disney Infinity’s release, Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants said:
“We could deliver in June if we wanted to. Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops.”
Pleasants added in another statement that Disney hopes “to capitalize on the critical fall retail season.”
“We have moved the launch date for Disney Infinity to August 18 to capitalize on the critical fall retail season.”

The Little Battlers Wars, after initially leaking out of CoroCoro, has since seen a heaping of details. Find all of the information from the magazine below.
– Exclusive to 3DS
– New game in the series with a new protagonist
– Protagonist’s name is Arata Sena, she’s from the country of “Genoque”
– Set in a “prestigious school”
– Sena uses an LBX named ‘Dot Phazer’
– Her roomate at the school is a boy named Hikaru Hoshihara
– Hoshihara uses an LBX named ‘Bal Sparros’
– He and Sera are part of a “First Squad”, which is commanded by a character named Haruki Izumo
– Izumo uses an LBX called ‘Orvain’
– Other characters: Fifth Squad commander Kite Fuujin, Fourth Squad commander Catherine Ruth, Third Squad commander Rikuya Togo, and Second Squad commander Gendou Isoya
– “Russius Alliance” is another country, made up of a union of several others
– A character named Muraku Houjou is from there and uses an LBX called ‘Gaunta Yzerfar’
– Houjou is a rival to Sena and her friends
– Houjou’s squadmates include Mikhail Luke, Vanessa Gara and the Muraku Squad mechanic Kageto Kiba
Pikachu 3DS XL hitting North America on March 24

As was previously rumored, Nintendo is bringing the Pikachu 3DS XL stateside. Retailers have already started to obtain product ahead of the system’s official release. A street date has apparently been set for March 24.
We’ll probably be receiving the official word from Nintendo about the special 3DS XL tomorrow. The Pokemon Company sent out a tweet earlier today teasing the announcement.
Amazon: Adventure Time for $20, Wii Classic Controller Pro for $13

A couple of new items are on sale at Amazon. First up, both versions of Adventure Time are going for
$19.54 currently. You can also purchase a Wii Classic Controller Pro
for $13 – specifically, the white model.
Remember, the Wii Classic Controller Pro is not the same as the Wii U Pro Controller. You can, however, use a Wii Classic Controller Pro with a Wii U in some instances.
