3DS

For those of you who were unaware of the announcement previously, the Kid Icarus anime videos are returning to Nintendo Video in North America. The old clips have already started to appear on the application today.

Kid Icarus fans without access to a 3DS/Nintendo Video can watch each anime directly on Nintendo Everything.

Thanks to 4Him for the tip.

Remember when Nicalis was quoted as saying that Wii U would be Nintendo’s most powerful console and would last five to ten years? As it turns out, that information was taken out of context.

Nicalis CEO Tyrone Rodridugez clarified his comments in a discussion with Destructoid, revealing the true intentions behind his statements.

He told the site:

“Sadly, the original quote was taken a bit out of context. Here’s exactly what I meant: for what we need, and maybe for other developers, the Wii U’s [capabilities] are more than sufficient for five to ten years. We’re not making AAA games or using a crazy insane 3D engine, but the Wii U can definitely do both. With that said, for what we are doing, we could work on the Wii U easily for another five years without making it break a sweat. We don’t do massive productions.”

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (DS) – E10+
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (3DS) – E10+
Kirby’s Block Ball (3DS) – E
The Amazing Spider-Man (DS) – E10+

I hope that Kirby’s Block Ball rating means the game will be released on the North American eShop this week…

Update: One more rating for the road: Tumblepop.

3DS Virtual Console listings continue to pour in from various classification boards.

Today, PEGI has rated Rayman for the service. This must be related to the Game Boy Color version of the title, which was released in 2000.

It looks like we can also expect The Sword of Hope 2 on the eShop soon, as the OFLC has added in an entry for the old Game Boy game.

Update: Bumped to the front page with more screenshots.

Screenshots aren’t from the 3DS version obviously, but it should contain most of the features from the other platforms. And if this is in the works for Wii U (which I think it is), you can expect that version to look similar to the screenshots above.

A sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is in the works. Sumo Digital and SEGA will release “Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed” this autumn.

When we first heard rumblings of a followup, the project was rumored for the 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and 3DS. Two out of those three platforms have been confirmed. Right now the game is heading to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, 3DS, and Vita. Unlike the original, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed is not coming to Wii. This makes us think that SEGA will be announcing a version for Nintendo’s new console at E3…

You can find the first details on Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed below.

– Can skid across water and soar in the sky
– Sumo had come up with their ideas before Mario Kart 7 was revealed
– Tweaks in handling when you go underwater
– Fully-fledged flight model for air segments
– Guide your winged-vehicle through floating boost gates
– Handling is comparable to Mario Kart and OutRun, but with a little more heft
– Can track off waves for a boost on occasion
– Watch out for whirlpools that can slow you down or drag you under
– Changes in the track as you race
– Shortcuts and alternative routes
– Panzer Dragoon-themed course included
– Spend a lot of time in the air for this stage
– Monkey Ball track: choice of winding, narrow, barrier-free strips of track up above, or the wider stretches below that are slower but easier to negotiate
– One shortcut sends you leaping onto a numbered target from the Money Target mini-game
– Sumo needed permission from SEGA Japan to include water for the Monkey Ball stage
– Improvements in graphics
– Composer Richard Jacques is working on the game
– Remix of classic SEGA tunes
– Commentator from the first game is gone
– Announcer only interjects to share the most important race information
– Crowd will clap, cheer, chant for their favorite racer
– Sonic drives his Koenigsegg-style supercar
– Team is trying to make the vehicles cooler
– Skies of Arcadia’s Vyse is in the game, has a vehicle based on the Delphinus
– Golden Axe’s Gilius Thunderhead is in the game, has a Ray Harryhausen-esque bronze creature that morphs into a turtle and an eagle
– Thunderhead was planned for the first game
– Final unlockable level will impress SEGA fans
– Earn points for your chosen character that feed into a leveling system
– Unlock trinkets/vehicle mods
– Split-screen multiplayer
– Online races
– Up to eight players

– Four favorite tracks from the first game are back such as Jet Set Radio Future’s Shibuya and the Death Egg track

In February, composer Hideki Sakamoto tweeted that Time Travelers would arrive in early summer. A new pamphlet from Nintendo gives credence to his message.

The pamphlet includes games expected to ship in June/July. Each entry lists a specific release date… except Time Travelers.

In any case, it seems as though Level-5 will launch Time Travelers within the first two months of summer.
