According to Famitsu, the next “Tales of” game from Namco Bandai is a “mothership” title. This means it’ll be a core entry rather than a spinoff or remake. There’s some speculation that it could be a sequel to Tales of Xillia.

If I had to guess, I’d say the new Tales title will arrive on the PlayStation 3. Maybe a Wii U version will be possible as well?

In any case, Namco Bandai will unveil the new game on June 2 at the Tales of Festival.

Namco Bandai has opened up a teaser site for the “Tales of” project, which you can find here. An unveiling will take place during the Tales of Festival on June 2 and June 3.

It hasn’t been made clear which platform(s) the game will be released on. Much of the title is shrouded in mystery overall, but Japanese magazine Jump did show some art in its latest issue.

Nintendo has a countdown running for the return of that “favorite” Club Nintendo reward teased yesterday. You can find it here.

Maybe this is bigger than a 3DS Game Card Case?

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham is at it again with another large update about the company’s projects. In the video blog above, Watsham discusses Mutant Mudds 2 (which is practically a lock for 2013), release time frames for already-announced games, new ideas (such as a new 2D platformer), and more.

Courtesy of Jump, here’s a scan of the next Tales game. It doesn’t show much other than a few pieces of artwork.

A teaser site will eventually go live here, but we’ll have to wait until the Tales of Festival for a proper unveiling. The event will be held in Japan on June 2 and June 3.

A “favorite” item will soon be available once again on Club Nintendo. Nintendo of America wrote on its Twitter account, “One of your favorite #ClubNintendo rewards is about to return. Guess what it is?”

The 3DS Game Card Case is the only reward not in stock on Club Nintendo, so I assume that’s what Nintendo is teasing.

A couple of signs have hinted at an upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings game announcement.

UK retailer ShopTo listed the title, though it has since been pulled. You can find a cached version of the page here.

Review versions of upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings toys have made their way to some members of the media, and there’s apparently some packaging confirming a video game made by series developer Traveller’s Tales.

The LEGO Lord of the Rings title will arrive in October if ShopTo’s listing is accurate.

Masahiro Sakurai along with the staff at Project Sora managed to successfully revive the once-dormant franchise, Kid Icarus. Uprising has been selling well around the world, and let’s not forget that it’s an incredible game.

Even with the game’s warm reception, Sakurai told IGN that he has no plans for a sequel.

He explained:

Nintendo isn’t the only company not attending Gamescom 2012. SEGA will be a no-show, too.

SEGA said it “was simply a commercial decision” in explaining its absence.

The company said in a statement:

“Sega has made the decision not to attend Gamescom this year. Gamescom 2011 was a very successful show for us and continues to be the most important European event in the calendar.

“Unfortunately the release timing of our 2012 AAA titles and new projects don’t work with the mid- August scheduling of the show. The decision will not mean that Sega will never attend Gamescom in the future, this was simply a commercial decision made for 2012.”
