General Nintendo

If you’ve been interested in the Club Nintendo 3DS Game Card Case, hopefully you picked one up before it went out of stock.

Why would I say something like that? Well, a Nintendo of America customer service representative recently hinted that the reward may not return.

The person said:

“Thanks for contacting us about the Nintendo DS/3DS 18 Game Card Case. Please note that this reward was produced in limited quantities, so it is unlikely that we’ll be getting more in stock. I will, however, document your interest in this particular reward on the record of feedback for this item. If additional supplies become available again in the future, we’ll be sure to update the Rewards section of Club Nintendo (https://club.nintendo.com/rewards.do). Since we’ll be unable to alert you if this happens, we ask that you check back periodically.”

The 3DS Game Card Case has been one of the site’s most popular rewards, so hopefully Nintendo will think about replenishing stock in the future.

Just when we thought that all of the E3 2012 interviews with Shigeru Miyamoto had wrapped up, another one came into view!

While the comments below touch on the competition once again and how companies are using some similar ideas as Nintendo, Miyamoto’s remark on the high quantity of titles focusing on guns these days was most interesting point  to me, personally.

Basically, Miyamoto said that he is sometimes concerned with “the continued reliance on making games that are so centered around guns, and that there are so many of these games.”

That’s a small teaser for you folks. All of Miyamoto’s comments can be read below.

Takashi Tezuka has been offering some valuable insightful into the Mario series through numerous interviews. He’s probably the best man to talk about the franchise (aside from Miyamoto!) since he’s been working on it since the first Super Mario Bros.

Tekuza’s latest remarks include the reasoning behind the similarities between all of the New Super Mario Bros. games, how Donkey Kong Country Returns’ visuals motivated the NSMB Wii team, the possibility of a touch screen only Mario, and more.

For Tezuka’s exact quotes, head past the break.

Nintendo of America vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt has delievered new commentary on all things Nintendo. He discussed why the company won’t be releasing specific Wii U hardware specs, “thinks” that first-party games will run in 1080p, and expressed that core gamers are very important.

We’ve posted the full Q&A below.

We’ve seen the Nintendo community accomplish amazing things with the Wii hardware and some of its games. The latest fan effort focuses on Super Mario Galaxy 2, which has been a given Mario and Luigi split-screen co-op mod through game patcher Riivolution.

The video above emphasizes that the project is still very much a work in progress. Even with the kinks, though, this is pretty impressive.

While the mod isn’t available to the public yet, it should be up for download sometime in the future.

Thanks to Quorf for the tip.

The latest concert for The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony was especially significant for one reason: Zelda Williams was the host.

In case you’ve forgotten, Ms. Williams is Robin Williams’ daughter. And yes, he did name her after Nintendo’s classic franchise!

You can find photos from the Los Angeles concert above. There are more events planned throughout the rest of the year – see the details here.
