The full extent of Union J’s promotion of Pokemon X/Y has been confirmed. When the two versions launch on October 12, the band will change its name to Union XY… yeah.
Union J member George Shelly suggested the temporary name change. All members of the band are said to be fans of the Pokemon games. Josh and George played Pokemon Black during the filming of X Factor, JJ loves Pokemon Emerald, and Jaymi enjoys Pokemon Crystal the most.

Nintendo’s North American Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze teaser site is now open. Access it here. The full site is apparently coming soon, though the wait could be awhile given how Tropical Freeze was recently pushed back to February 2014.
The site houses Donkey Kong’s debut trailer as well as a first screenshot. There’s also a very brief overview with a confirmation that six islands are included, featuring Mangrove swamps, Savannah storms, ocean depths, and the frozen landscape of DK Island.
Thanks to Tytygh for the tip.
C.O.P.: The Recruit dev working on “IronFall” for the 3DS eShop
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 1 Comment

You may know VD-Dev as the team behind C.O.P.: The Recruit. While the game’s reception was mixed, the company pulled off an impressive feat by creating a 3D open world-type environment on the DS.
We haven’t heard much from VD-Dev in recent years, but they’re working on a brand new 3DS eShop game titled “IronFall”. There aren’t a whole lot of details available on the official website, but hopefully we’ll hear more soon.
Hyper Light Drifter receives Wii U stretch goal on Kickstarter

Hyper Light Drifter could come to Wii U if funds reach $550,000 on Kickstarter. Developer Heart Machine has been talking with Nintendo, and those discussions are now complete. The studio says that it has “love” for the Wii U “and it makes us giddy”.
After completing talks with Nintendo and wrapping our minds around the time and resources needed, we are extremely excited to announce an official stretch goal for Wii U! Yes, we love this platform and it makes us giddy!
We are placing this at the $550,000 stretch goal: if we hit that all backers at the $15 level and above will be able to choose between a Steam key, a drm free copy, a PS4 key, a Vita key, an Ouya key, or a Wii U key! Super intense times!
You can contribute to Hyper Light Drifter’s Kickstarter here. Heart Machine will need a little over $100,000 in the next seven days in order to assure a Wii U version.
Shovel Knight planned for winter release

Shovel Knight had been tentatively scheduled to launch in September. However, the month went by without any sort of mention from Yacht Club Games, and it soon became clear that the game wouldn’t be out “on time”.
We now have a new release window, at least. A tweet from Yacht Club’s Twitter account states that Shovel Knight is due out sometime this winter.
Winter 2013? Next year? That’s anybody’s guess at this point!
Shovel Knight is also sailing toward a Winter release on all initial platforms. PC, Steam, Wii U, and 3DS!

Mario Party: Island Tour still hitting North America on November 22
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Mario Party: Island Tour was delayed in Europe earlier this week, but the game’s release date hasn’t changed in North America. We’ve been able to confirm with Nintendo that Island Tour is still on track for a November 22nd launch in the states.
We learned today that users will be able to take advantage of Download Play in Mario Party: Island Tour so they can get the full experience with friends – even if the other players don’t have the game cartridge. However, it won’t include online play.

Mario Party: Island Tour lacks online play
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 6 Comments
Mario Party: Island Tour includes fairly extensive local multiplayer (especially when it comes to Download Play), but there won’t be any online play.
A few new details about the game are in as well. Island Tour contains 80 mini-games and 7 game boards which can be played alone or with others. Shown previously, AR Cards are used for some mini-games. StreetPass features are included, too.
