Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games also coming to 3DS
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games isn’t just heading to Wii U, apparently.
Although the new Mario & Sonic was only announced for Wii U during the most-recent Nintendo Direct, there’s also a version in development for the 3DS.
IGN’s Rich George just wrote on Twitter that he received word from SEGA about the 3DS title:
Yes, SEGA confirmed that Sonic Lost World and Mario & Sonic Olympics are coming to 3DS and Wii U.
— Rich (@RichIGN) June 3, 2013
Nintendo nor SEGA have mentioned Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games for the 3DS in any of its PR, but I guess it’s coming anyway. For what it’s worth, all previous Mario & Sonic games have launched on Nintendo consoles/handhelds.
Grant Kirkhope will write a tune for A Hat in Time if Kickstarter stretch goals are met
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Hopefully you’ve heard of Grant Kirkhope. If not, go look up some of his tracks on YouTube right now! Kirkhope has been involved with a bunch of Rare games, including Banjo Kazooie.
Kirkhope is in the news today for one reason. On Twitter, he confirmed that if A Hat in Time’s Kickstarter stretch goals are met, he’ll write a tune for the indie title.
If A Hat in Time reach their stretch goals I’m going to write a tune for them to put in the game!
— Grant Kirkhope (@grantkirkhope) June 3, 2013
Over $85,000 has been raised for A Hat in Time thus far. The final stretch goal, a seventh chapter, is set at $110,000.
SEGA’s third Sonic game not coming this year
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Podcast Stories | 0 comments
IGN’s Rich George has confirmed with SEGA that the company’s third Nintendo-exclusive Sonic title will not arrive in 2013. That puts the unannounced project at a tentative 2014 date for now.
George wrote on Twitter:
Been busy but just re-confirmed with SEGA that the ‘third’ Sonic game in Nintendo’s three-game deal will not arrive in 2013.
— Rich (@RichIGN) June 3, 2013
The initial rumor did seem rather suspect. While it came from a valid source (Nintendo’s Germany division), the fact that we have yet to see anything from SEGA’s third title pointed to a far away release. On the bright side, there is Sonic Lost World to look forward to this year, and possible the new Mario & Sonic title.
Eidos Montreal tweet could be a new Deus Ex tease
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Eidos Montreal could be teasing a new Deus Ex game.
On Twitter, the company wrote:
Are YOU ready for The Fall?
— Eidos-Montréal (@eidosmontreal) June 3, 2013
Eidos Montreal is a subsidiary of Square Enix. In March, Square Enix picked up a trademark for something called “Deus Ex: The Fall”, which could tie into the tease above.
If any announcements are planned, they’ll likely be made during E3 2013 next week.
Obviously Square Enix is bringing Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut to Wii U. It’d really stink if a new game in the franchise was in development, but didn’t end up on Nintendo’s console as well.
Capcom preparing Monster Hunter 4 limited edition set for Japan

Japanese Monster Hunter fans will be able to grab the Monster Hunter 4 Limited Edition in September.
Capcom is preparing a special set featuring a copy of the game, swordsman figure, 2-way 3DS case made of “Goa Magara skin”, and a strap.
A few details on the figure: it’s made by Sen-ti-nel co, is composed of PVC, and stands about 190 mm tall. The Hunter Figure holds a Fire Dragon Sword as well as a Fire Dragon Hammer. Changeable hands, a stand, and texture sheets are also included.
The Crew – more rumored details
Posted on 11 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
For those unaware, The Crew is a rumored next generation racing game coming from Ubisoft, with details having been leaked prior to its likely reveal at E3. Here’s what we know via an alleged playtester of the game:
– The Crew is expected to play similar to Ubisoft Reflections most recent racer Driver: San Francisco, with a semi-arcade style of racing.
– As with Driver: San Francisco, The Crew will be open world with the ability to travel between New York City and Los Angeles, though the scale of these cities has been reduced.
– It is not clear whether you will travel through wilderness to reach each city or whether the game will simply load in each area.
– The Crew will also feature a similar ‘Google Maps’ style mechanic, presumably for navigating the open world.
– A ‘Freeride’ mode will be available too, which the option to choose between missions or challenges.
– Multiplayer will feature 8 players in either competitive or co-operative gameplay, though no more specific details were provided.
– As is the case with Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs – and presumably many of the publisher’s next-gen games – The Crew will come with a companion app for mobile devices.
– It is presumed that The Crew’s release date will be before the end of 2013, presumably to tie into a next-gen release. With such a close release date, it’s safe to assume The Crew will be announced at E3 2013.
We’ll probably hear a lot more about this game at E3 in just 8 days.

Kuju Entertainment working on next-gen consoles
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
Kuju Entertainment has projects in the works for next-gen projects – so says a note made in a financial report from parent company Catalis SE.
The report mentions:
“Both studios of Kuju are actively developing games on one or more of the next gen consoles (PS4, Xbox one, Wii U) in addition to currently working up pitches for new concepts, specifically targeted to the latest consoles.”
One could probably say that Kuju’s main division is Headstrong Games, the team behind Art Academy, Battalion Wars, House of the Dead: Overkill, and more. Earlier this year, an unannounced Wii U title was spotted on a staffer’s LinkedIn profile.
Headstrong has a sister studio Zoe Mode. The company has produced the EyePet games, Crush3D, and others.
At this point, Kuju’s other major division is DoubleSix Games. You may recognize them as the developer behind South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! and All Zombies Must Die!
