Watch Dogs is now a cross-generation project. Along with the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions, it’ll also be coming to the PS4.

The PS4 game may look slightly prettier/polished, and the Wii U release will have the benefit of GamePad functionality. In the end though, Ubisoft will be keeping the experience the same across platforms.

According to Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin:

“…I firmly believe that creating a game experience starts with what you want to do and achieve as a team. It has nothing to do with tools. The tools are there to facilitate certain things. So the same experience is there on the PS3 and other consoles. Players will have the same enjoyment; they will not feel any letdown.”

Maestro Interactive is bringing three titles to the Wii U eShop. One of these is Cosmic Highway.

A first screenshot was released by Maestro – posted below – but be aware that it comes from an early prototype:


The character featured in the shot is known as the “Inventor”. In Cosmic Highway, the Inventor will be able to use a smokescreen ability to cloud up his opponents’ view.

Two Tribes is very close to submitting Toki Tori 2 to Nintendo. On Twitter, the studio wrote that it anticipates sending the game off to the Big N next week.

Two Tribes estimates being 97.21% done with the game… quite the precise figure!

Treyarch has kicked off the weekend with a double XP event in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Up through Monday, players can earn double the experience points for each headshot, frag kill, and flag capture. This applies to all versions of the game.

Arkedo to be disbanded

Hell Yeah! Wrath of a Dead Rabbit and Big Bang Mini developer Arkedo is no longer the studio it once was. The company is moving away from games due to a lack of funds. On the bright side, Arkedo decided to “disband the team when there still was enough money to get good conditions for everyone”.

Writing about the new direction for Arkedo, co-founder Aurelien Regard said:

“It has been decided to disband the team when there still was enough money to get good conditions for everyone, rather than replace permanent positions with interns and a bad atmosphere. As in any human matter, it is important to know when to stop, to get a clean situation. It is precisely because we did this at this time that everyone from Arkedo is still having a good time together, even after it’s officially over.”

Arkedo still has “two small games” that have yet to be released. These are due out “soon.”

Did you know that Capcom is celebrating a big anniversary this year? It’s true! The company will be turning 30 years-old in just a few months.

To celebrate the anniversary, which officially takes place on June 11, Capcom has prepared a special logo “that will be used with internal and external corporate communications. The logo incorporates Capcom’s corporate colors and uses a perspective that creates a sense of depth. This design expresses Capcom’s accomplishments since its inception along with the determination to continue to grow in the future. The logo will be used in all Capcom Group advertisements, sales promotion materials, publications, websites and other communication channels until March 2014.”

Capcom also said the following about the significant milestone:

“Capcom views the 30th anniversary as a new beginning for creating more content that fully draws on the company’s outstanding development skills and basic research programs. Capcom is dedicated to using this progress to contribute to the advancement of the entertainment industry as well as to earn even greater satisfaction and trust among all stakeholders.”



Gaijin Games was a staunch supporter of the Wii– and Nintendo in general– over the last generation, but believe it or not they had initially planned on skipping the Wii U with their upcoming game Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. The following comes from an interview with NES:


Once we started seeing what the Wii U had to offer, being Nintendo developers, we started to get excited. Since we’d self-published with Nintendo before with lilt line, we were confident that we could handle it with Runner2, and made the decision to go in that direction for the Wii U version.

They weren’t always completely happy with the system, however, and they say that if they had to complain about anything it would be the way Nintendo does online. They say it “isn’t as robust as Sony or Microsoft’s”, but note that it’s “WAY better than the Wii” and in the end it’s easy enough to work with once you get the hang of it.
