Still unknown if Black Ops II DLC will hit Wii U

Yesterday, Activision confirmed a release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s Revolution DLC on the PlayStation 3 and PC. That leaves Wii U as the only console with uncertainty surrounding downloadable content.
Even some of the closer folks at Activision are unsure as to what the Black Ops II DLC situation is like on Wii U – including social media manager Dan Amrich.
When asked about the Revolution DLC for Wii U, Amrich tweeted:
I have not heard any info, one way or the other, concerning Wii U DLC. I’ve asked, no answer yet. RT @jman4371: But what about Wii U?!

Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails heading to the Wii U eShop
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Rhodri Broadbent, who has previously worked on Fable, Star Fox Command, The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character, and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims, is now making a game for the Wii U eShop.
Broadbent is bringing “Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails” to the platform. There’s only a logo to see for now, but a few gameplay details have already emerged. You can find those below along with commentary from Broadbent.
– Release planned for this year
– Scram Kitty lives in the TV
– Play the buddy on rails
– 2D shooter
– Whiz about the interior of spaceships disposing of enemies with colorful little jets of gunfire as you bounce and grind off networks of rails
– Kind of like Smash TV and Jet Set Radio
– There’s some second screen magic that has the TV broadcasting the buddy on rail’s actions, overlaying it with splashes of action and commentary that turn the 2D action into something that’s as energetic and engaging as a Japanese game show
– Broadbent: “I like it when you have experiences with family. They hate touchscreen because the stress, but they enjoy the passive thing of watching you play the game. My brother used to enjoy watching me play Speedball 2.”
– A link exists between the two screens that has the buddy on rails sending items across to scram kitty in order to progress
– This link extended through Miiverse
– Broadbent: “We want to make it so that it can translate messages that you send into an assist mode. You know in Street Fighter 4 and you get a super finish and everything goes crazy and it feels awesome? We want to make it so you can send those abilities to other players. So if you beat a boss or do something in a certain time, that can be translated into an assist item for a friend.”
– Gary Lucken helping with the visuals
Head past the break for a few more quotes, including Broadbent talking about meeting Shigeru Miyamoto when he was with Q-Games:
[Video Feature] Eggbusters – Metroid Prime
Posted on 11 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in Features, Videos | 0 comments
A very tired Austin (sorry about that– won’t happen again!) takes on one of the most famous glitches from Metroid Prime– but can he really discover a whole new place to explore in one of the most polished games of the decade…?
Watch it to find out!
Note: It’s pretty late at night but I’m posting this anyway. If you’re worried about missing it, don’t be: It’ll get bumped at the end of every daily news cycle for the next few days. :}
Also you can read the exact steps to do the glitch yourself after the break.
Amazon: PDP Epic Mickey 2 – Mickey’s Paintbrush for $15
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
Epic Mickey 2 may not have been 2012’s best game, but PDP sure did make a sweet tie-in peripheral. The PDP Mickey Paintbrush for Wii was released in November of last year.
As it just so happens, Amazon is running a lightning deal on the accessory. For the next 2 hours (expires at 2 AM ET / 12 AM PT), you can purchase the product for $14.99. The list price is $29.99, so you’d technically be saving $15.

No plans for Wiimote and nunchuck setup in Revelations HD “at this time”
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Resident Evil: Revelations HD will support GamePad and Wii U Pro Controller options. What players won’t be able to do is control the game with a Wiimote and nunchuck.
Capcom’s Mike Lumm wrote on Capcom-Unity:
“Unfortunately [Revelations] is only supported by the Wii-U gamepad at the moment. We’re doing what we can to get the new classic controller compatibility, but the game’s not setup to track motions from the wii-remote at this time.”
Wouldn’t it be neat to see a Wiimote and nunchuk setup through a patch? The wording of “at this time” doesn’t shut the door on the possibility completely…
