Jump has a few new details on Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. The magazine states that the following sub characters will be included in the game:
Final Fantasy XIII: Snow
Final Fantasy XI: Prishe
Final Fantasy IX: Vivi
Final Fantasy VII: Aerith
Final Fantasy V: Faris
Final Fantasy III: Cid
Final Fantasy I: Princess Sara
According to the magazine, players can add these sub characters to their party by gathering Crystal Fragments. The article states that you’ll be able to take advantage of summons such as Odin and Bahamut during battles.
Rumor: EA and Valve looking to bring online services to Wii U
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
A source, who is friends with an engineer at EA, claims to have been given information online plans for Wii U.
This source has reason to believe that EA is looking to make their Origin service a significant aspect of the console’s online plans. If true, players would be able to take advantage of full-on voice/video chat, leaderboards, and comprehensive friends lists.
The source said:
“Many publishers are happy with Xbox Live’s features, but they aren’t happy with how strict Microsoft’s guidelines are. Nintendo went with an open flexible approach with online because when Nintendo asked developers/publishers what they wanted in an online service, that was the number one thing they asked for.”
The rumors don’t end there. Supposedly Valve hopes to bring their Steam platform to the console. EA, however, are “aggressively persuading Nintendo to go Origins exclusive with Wii U’s online so they can gain a competitive advantage over Steam.”
That’s assuming any of this is real, of course. We’ve all heard the “my friend/parent/dog works at X and told me X” story. This round of speculation is interesting, but take it with a grain of salt.
Super Mario 3D Land contest winner

The results are in! After pulling out a name from the magic hat, we finally have a winner for the Super Mario 3D Land contest. Actually, I used a random number generator. Same thing… almost.
In any case, the winning member is: invader_quirk. We’ll be in contact with him soon and will send out a free copy of Super Mario 3D Land.
I do hope that this contest allowed some of you to find a new home. I was surprised to see that quite a few of you weren’t even aware of our forum! Activity on the boards has been buzzing over the past couple of weeks – we all know why that was, though it’d be great if our new members stuck around. I’ve been more than pleased to meet the new members, and I am extremely appreciative of those who have been with us before the contest began.
Also, I might as well mention this now: in the (hopefully near) future I intend to host more forum contests on the site. They could be posts-related (likey with a higher posts requirement) or something completely different. Keep your eyes peeled for updates soon!
Still haven’t visited the forum? You can find it right here.

Rumor: Killer Freaks was originally a PS3/360 title featuring the Rabbids
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
Killer Freaks from Outer Space is one of the few, original titles we know of that is coming exclusively to Wii U. But, interestingly, the game apparently started out as a PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 project featuring the Rabbids.
Ubisoft Montpellier supposedly came up with the concept in February 2010. Because there were plans to use the Rabbids, the game was initially titled “Killer Rabbids”. The team decided to go in a different direction, and ultimately scrapped the idea of using the creatures.
The funny thing is that the Rabbids’ influence can still be seen in the game. Ubisoft was even asked during a roundtable event at E3 2011 if they influenced the “freak” enemies seen in the current product. A developer responded by saying that although they do look somewhat similar, the beasts shown in sample footage are just one type of “freaks” you’ll encounter in the title. Based on what we know now, it seems that the two creatures share a deeper connection.
Thanks to Kyle for the tip!
