New 3DS update is live
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Update: Should be good to go for everyone now!
The latest 3DS firmware has gone live around the world. Users have been reporting that they’ve gone through the download process in North America, the UK, Australia, and Japan. Please be patient, though: some 3DS owners are saying that they’re encountering an error when attempting to download the firmware. Nintendo is likely pushing it out to everyone gradually.
The upgrade brings in a slew of new features/improvements, most notably video recording functionality for the 3DS Camera application.
The full list of changes are as follows:
- 3D Video, and 3D Stop Motion animation videos
- QR code functionality will be improved
- Transfer game files between Nintendo 3DS systems
- New puzzles and extra Find Mii Dungeon
- eShop will be expanded as well, you’ll soon have access to game demos (for both downloadable games and retail games)
- You’ll be able to download software while your system is in Sleep Mode
- The eShop will also support Download Codes (which will be used primarily for special promotions) and will enable users to save payment information to their system if they so so desire
- The update will add a new application to your system’s Home Menu:”Nintendo Zone” active when you’re at a Nintendo 3DS hotspot location. Provides free access to exclusive content, streaming 3D videos (such as game trailers, tv ads) trivia games, and retail promotions
Mario Kart 7 appears to be causing a sound glitch in sleep mode
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
This is something that I’ve experienced, but I figured my 3DS was acting up for some odd reason. I also considered that I was going crazy.
Here’s the problem: it seems that Mario Kart 7 is causing some sort of sound glitch. This will only happen after putting your system in sleep mode. Once you open your 3DS, you might not hear anything at all.
To fix the issue, you can try putting your system back into sleep mode and reopening it. Rebooting the software will work, too. Since this is something that could be affecting a large amount of users, perhaps Nintendo can look into sending out a patch.
Let us know if you’ve encountered the problem in the comments below!
