Wii U rumors: Limiting chipset for controller, developer issues, release date talk

01Net published an article yesterday regarding information they’ve received about the 3DS. Today, they’ve followed up with some Wii U rumors.
The first topic of discussion focuses on the controller’s main chipset. There is apparently some concern that it is limiting. 01Net’s source goes as far as to say that it might be “a tad too cheap”. The site also claims that wireless capabilities aren’t functioning just yet and a fourth prototype will be made available before month’s end.

Nintendo not commenting on rumored 3DS redesign
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Unsurprisingly, Nintendo has issued their standard “we do not comment on rumour and speculation” line regarding the rumored 3DS redesign. I wouldn’t expect any sort of confirmation now, and even if it were true, I don’t think we’d hear anything about it until next year. I’m sure Nintendo wants the 3DS to be a focus this holidays as it is now along with their lineup of upcoming games.
Nintendo Conference confirmed for September 13

A new article on The Wall Street Journal (registration required) seems to confirm that Nintendo’s rumored September event will indeed take place on the 13th. The site says that it’ll be called the Nintendo Conference, a trade show that is “open to industry people, analysts, investors and journalists, but not to consumers.” So we can expect the same deal as last year’s event.
We’ve already heard that a big announcement is planned, but perhaps it won’t necessarily be on the 3DS as this is called the “Nintendo Conference”. But I have to admit that the 3DS is probably the safest bet for a huge reveal.

We now have a follow-up report on Nintendo’s rumored September 13 event. Inside Games is adding to the speculation, claiming that their sources say that an extremely big title will be announced next month. They aren’t sure if the reveal will be taking place on September 13, however, nor do they know if that’s when the rumored 3DS conference will take place. It does seem that the event will be taking place sometime in September though.
Rumor: Nintendo planning 3DS event for September 13
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 0 comments
Could Nintendo be planning a fall-like conference for the 3DS? Well, we aren’t entirely sure that it’s a conference, though investors are under the impression that an important event will be held on September 13.
This rumored event has actually caused a boost in Nintendo stock today, which, at one point, rose to 9.7% above yesterday’s level.
Nintendo held a “Fall Conference” in late September of last year. While the 3DS was a huge focus, the company also took time to talk briefly about Wii – and confirmed Wii Remote Plus. New games were also announced after the show ended.
Monday Stuff – Gameplay vs. Atmosphere: Which is More Important?
Posted on 13 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in Features, General Nintendo | 0 comments
The way I see it, there are two parts to making a game: Making the gameplay, and making the atmosphere. These two parts are integral to any great game design, but each one encompasses a totally different set of things. Gameplay includes things like controls, level design, etc, while the atmosphere can encompass everything from the graphics to the music, to the sound effects and character animations. Both are important parts of game design, and when a developer can bring together a perfect balance of the two, we get games that are so full of magic and wonder, we feel like we can never put them down. These, in my opinion, are games like The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Banjo Kazooie.
