For those of you that follow NintendoEverything on Facebook, you know that I pre-ordered my 3DS system at GameStop two minutes before the deadline (technically it was way past the deadline) and I did it over the phone, which is normally against the rules. How did I accomplish such a feat? The guys at my local GameStops are super cool, so they cut some corners for me.

But that’s not really the point of this post. The point was that, while I was talking to this wonderful GameStop employee, he mentioned that partially due to the tsunami/earthquake in Japan, GameStop would only be receiving enough Aqua Blue 3DS systems to fulfill pre-orders, and that they would not have ANY Aqua Blue systems on shelves to purchase without a pre-order. Now, I’ve yet to call other GameStops across the country, but if any readers could help us out with piecing together what the situation is in places other than here in Minneapolis, that would be great!

Long story short: Unless you pre-ordered it, you may not be able to get an Aqua Blue 3DS at GameStop no matter how long you camp out in front of the store entrance.

You can check out the first images of Capcom’s new 3DS title above. Also, the game’s official site has opened and can be viewed here.

DS: Action Game (Now Productions)
3DS: Omega Five (Hudson)
3DS: Kororinpa Series (Hudson)
3DS: Bonk (Hudson)
3DS: Bomberman (Hudson)
WII: Deca Sporta 4 (Hudson)
WII: Role Playing Game (Konami)

Again, there is a bit of confusion going around since a North American Konami spokesperson wouldn’t confirm that their 3DS titles are cancelled. There are some new additions to the list above, though, such as Konami’s mystery RPG and Hudson’s Deca Sports 4.

If you’re not already convinced that the 3DS is going to be bigger than almost any system launch ever, let me throw some more numbers at you: Amazon UK is reporting that 3DS pre-orders on their website are double that of Wii pre-orders, and we all know how intense the Wii’s sales numbers were.

On top of that, the 3DS also broke the former “pre-order king”, the PS3, by about 70 percent. Sounds like we’ve got a big launch on our hands! How many of you have pre-ordered your 3DS yet? I know I did!

This information comes from a Konami spokesperson…

“If (the announcement) didn’t come from us, it’s not true. We have not distributed any official list of Hudson products yet.”

So, it looks like Hudson’s 3DS titles are safe… for now. It is a bit confusing as to why Famitsu would say the games are cancelled, though. Either they know something we don’t, or it was just a mistake.
