Nintendo made the announcement about Wii U roughly two months ago, but you might be surprised to hear that they had not secured any sort of trademark for the console until recently. Last week, the company filed for around twenty trademarks relating to the word “Wii U”.

Going forward, Nintendo will probably look to acquire domains for the system. However, the website “wiiu.com” was registered back in 2004 and a quick check indicates that they do not own the domain. A similar address, “nintendowiiu.com”, isn’t held by Nintendo either.

It probably would have saved Nintendo a lot of hassle had they registered at least one of the domains prior to the Wii U reveal. In the end though, Nintendo will surely be able to acquire a website for their upcoming console.

– Results will play out pretty much identically in the Wii/3DS versions
– Games will have the same content
– 3DS version will look very similar to the Wii game
– Each time period will have its own screen during story sequences
– Beenox says the 3D effect won’t be overblown
– 3D will be used to enhance certain moments, like heightening the thrill of 2099’s free-fall sequences

DS

– Developed by Other Ocean (Dark Void Zero)
– Side-scrolling action
– Own art style and feel
– Swap between the present and 2099 at any time to control those periods’ heroes
– Spider-Man of 2099 might encounter a locked security door, destroy it more easily in the past
– Different locations than the 3DS/Wii versions
– Daily Bugle offices in present-day NYC and a Cyber Gaming Arena in the year 2099 are some locations
– At least two bosses not in the other versions: Rhino and Shocker
