Ubisoft thinks 3DS sales will pick up for Christmas

This information comes from Ubisoft UK Managing Director Rob Cooper…
“Ubisoft has always been a big Nintendo supporter and we’ve always positioned ourselves early on their new formats. I know that sales of the 3DS haven’t been up to the level Nintendo initially hoped but there are some key brands coming to the format and these will be big hardware drivers in the run up to Christmas. I’m certain that 3DS will have a good Christmas.”
The 3DS’ poor sales shouldn’t be shocking to anyone. Simply put, the game is lacking must-have software. There’s a couple of enjoyable games, but nothing to really make anyone rush out and purchase the system. Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 3D, and Super Mario 3DS should make an impact on the situation.
Spike will have live demo of Zelda: Skyward Sword during E3 week

This information comes from Geoff Keighley…
“Can’t say too much about E3 week on Spike/GT yet, but here’s one nugget: We’ll have the first live demo of Zelda: Skyward Sword.”
Nice to see that SpikeTV will be giving Nintendo some love. I really hope that this year’s Skyward Sword offers more than the one on display at E3 2010. More varied environments would be nice, and it’s be great if we could learn more about the game’s story.
Ubisoft “expect to be wowed” by Project Cafe

This information comes from Ubisoft UK Managing Director Rob Cooper…
“What you always get with Nintendo is innovation, with consumers at the heart of the technologies they create, which will always result in huge success and I’m more than confident that Wii 2 will live up to this. Never underestimate Nintendo and their capacity to look at gaming in new and innovative ways, I expect to be wowed.”
Nintendo always has something up their sleeves when they’re ready to reveal a new system. And usually, as Nintendo says, a new system is introduced when they have new ideas for games that can’t be accomplished on current hardware. So I definitely expect them to have some interesting projects to show at E3.
Square Enix, n-Space team up for Heroes of Ruin

In April, it was discovered that Square Enix filed a trademark for Heroes of Ruin. The title has been unveiled today, and may surprise some fans.
It looks like n-Space is teaming up with Square Enix to bring this brand new project to the 3DS. This is n-Space’s first game for the handheld, and I believe this is their first partnership with Square Enix. Only one piece of art has been released, but hopefully we’ll receive some concrete information soon.

The game is definitely a looker, and the gameplay looks fantastic. I’m still amazed that Shin’en is able to pull off such an effort on WiiWare.
