Posted on 14 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 1 Comment

Just a quick reminder to the folks in North America – The DSi firmware update can now be downloaded. For those who are unclear about the update, upgrading your system will allow you to upload any photos from your DSi right onto Facebook. Reportedly, this update will also cause the DSi to lose compatibility with flash cards. So upgrade at your own risk!

AUSTIN, Texas: Ghostfire Games (http://www.ghostfiregames.com) has just announced Rage of the Gladiator™, a bold and innovative video game for the WiiWare™ service for the Nintendo™ Wii™.

Rage of the Gladiator is a fantasy fighting game. You control a gladiator, fighting for your life in an arena. Armed with your magical warhammer and a trusty shield, you must defeat fantastic bosses including a Chimera, Beholder, and a Dragon. The game is set in first-person perspective.

This information comes from Nintendo Power…

“We did consider Wii MotionPlus, but ultimately decided not to use it. The controls of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers are meant to be intuitive and do not require heightened sensitivity, so it plays just fine without Wii MotionPlus.” – Toshiyuki Itahana, character designer/director

I’m not at all bothered by this news. In the case of FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, much of the gameplay focuses on pointing, so adding MotionPlus wouldn’t enhance the experience drastically.

Iwata on the possibility of Wii Fit Plus and/or New Super Mario Bros. Wii being delayed…

“We have absolutely no worry that they [Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros. Wii] will not be released as scheduled…We’d like to work so that people say ‘This was the best Christmas in Nintendo history.'”

Iwata on the disappointing sales of Animal Crossing: City Folk and Wii Music…

“Last year, Wii Music and Animal Crossing City Folk did not reach our expectations. If we had made them into long sellers, the effects of the lack of software in the first half of the year would have been lowered. However, their sales slowed in a relatively short term.”

Iwata on a Wii price drop…

“At present, we’re not thinking of doing anything with the price.”
