Arcade Archives Mario Bros.

A little while back, Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream conducted a lengthy interview with Hamster CEO Satoshi Hamada. There was some very interesting discussion about releasing Arcade Archives Mario Bros. on Switch, including why it was selected first out of all Nintendo titles, how it even happened in the first place, working with Nintendo, and the intricate process used to bring it to the console.

The discussion started with Nintendo Dream thanking Hamster for bringing Arcade Archives to Switch. This marks the first time arcade titles from Nintendo have been completely ported, the first one being Mario Bros. Hamada explained that Arcade Archives was born from the desire to let as many people as possible to know about the past arcade games, and he also wants to expand it to many game consoles, including Switch.

Bionicle: The Game hit the GameCube in 2003 as developed by Argonaut Games. However, that wasn’t the original plan.

Originally, Saffire Corporation was making its own Bionicle project for GameCube and PC. LEGO Bionicle: The Legend of Mata Nui was planned to take place after Quest for the Toa for the Game Boy Advance – another title developed by the same studio. Unfortunately, after new management was brought in at LEGO, everything was scrapped despite being close to completion.

The following video from DidYouKnowGaming? and Liam Robertson explains what happened to the game and shows off quite a bit of footage:

Wolfenstein II

When the file size for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was first added to the Switch eShop, it clocked in at 13.7GB. It looks like it’ll actually take up quite a bit more space than that.

Wolfenstein II’s eShop listing has been updated, and now has a notice stating that at least 23GB of free space will be required upon release. It’s unclear why the actual size is still listed at 13.7GB, but be prepared to have another 10GB of space ready.
