Batman: Arkham Origins officially costs $50 on Wii U, not $60
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 3 Comments
Perhaps due to the game’s lack of multiplayer, Batman: Arkham Origins will be priced at $50 when it launches on Wii U next month. Other versions cost $60 and include online play.
Some retailers (well, notably GameStop) have the game listed for $60. However, Warner Bros. confirmed that the official MSRP on Wii U is indeed $50.
Amazon probably has the best deal for Origins at this point. You’ll receive a $10 credit along with Deathstroke DLC.
Treasure teases “good news about Ikaruga before long”
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in GameCube, News, Podcast Stories | 2 Comments
Treasure hasn’t done anything with the Ikaruga IP since the original game’s release. While the studio did work on Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga’s spiritual sequel, we haven’t any new developments in the series.
That may be changing in the future. On Twitter, Treasure sent out its first English note and teased that there will be “good news” concerning Ikaruga “before long.”
The message reads:
Some good news about "Ikaruga" before long. Well, I'll tweet again when the time comes.

Resident Evil 4’s action focus came from “commercial failure” of Resident Evil remake
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in GameCube, General Nintendo, News, Podcast Stories, Wii | 1 Comment
Resident Evil 4 adopted a fairly different approach than its predecessors. For the game’s development, Capcom decided to make the game more action-oriented.
This was a conscious decision made by Shinji Mikami, who was director of the project. Because the 2002 remake of Resident Evil was a “commercial failure”, Mikami wanted to emphasize gameplay as opposed to scaring players.
Mikami told IGN in a new interview:
New Call of Duty: Ghosts map features a medieval castle
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Podcast Stories, Screenshots, Wii U | 0 comments
A brand new multiplayer map has been revealed for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Stonehaven, a new map set in a medieval castle, provides snipers with enough room to operate while also encouraging close quarters combat.
The map encompasses more than just a castle. There’s also a surrounding area with a shallow stream and a destroyed lighthouse in the background.
Stonehaven does allow for dynamic map event alternation during matches. Players are able to change the flow of the map. One example pointed out by Eurogamer allows for a gate to be closed.
Infinity Ward community manager Tina Palacios told the site:
“When we’re designing maps, we have to cater to a couple of different types of gameplay and players in their habits. We didn’t want to alienate people who love to fight in close quarters, but we needed a big map. Then we looked to Europe.”
“We always want to add a variety regardless of what the story setting may be. It’s evolved a lot over time. When we first made it we thought it would maybe be just a harbour with a bunch of ships on a sandy beach. Then it became what it is now. And we like the look much better than what we had in the past.”

Miyamoto believes Aonuma no longer needs him for Zelda, no longer looking “at every minute detail of every game”
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Podcast Stories | 1 Comment
Eventually, there will come a day when Shigeru Miyamoto is no longer at Nintendo. But when that does happen fans won’t need to worry – Eiji Aonuma, Yoshiaki Koizumi, and Hideki Konno are a few of the primary staffers that have become Miyamoto’s apprentices, so to speak.
In fact, when it comes to Aonuma, Miyamoto believes that “he doesn’t need me any more”. Aonuma told ONM in the magazine’s latest issue:

FIFA 14 3DS lacks updated gameplay, new modes
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Podcast Stories | 0 comments
FIFA 14 for 3DS is more or less the same game as last year.
In Nintendo’s weekly Nintendo Download report, a blurb about the sports game confirms that there are “no updates to gameplay or game modes.” The only changes are apparent through “updated kits and rosters”. That’s it, folks.
Here’s the description in full:
“FIFA 14 Legacy Edition delivers unmatched authenticity that reflects the current football season with updated kits and rosters but no updates to gameplay or game modes. It features 30 officially licensed leagues, 50 real-world tournaments, and 500 authentic clubs. Play traditional matches or free your game in epic 5-v-5 street matches with 3D effects. Play as a real-world superstar or re-create yourself. Optional touch screen controls deliver pin-point shooting and passing at your finger-tips.”
