Valve – no Wii game until 2010?

Jeux-France reports that Valve – known for innovative titles such as Portal – is currently expressing interest to develop a game for the Nintendo Wii. On the downside, however, there are no apparent plans to release such a game until 2010 at the earliest. Also, the same report suggests that the game would be intended for children.
Regardless of the intended audience, I’m quite interested as to what Valve could brew up for the Wii. If Portal was any indication, it will be unique.
RUMOR: Developers unable to price their own WiiWare titles?
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 1 Comment
Target Toss Pro: Bags was announced today via an IGN interview. The basics of the game were discussed, though when pricing was brought up, Andy Kniaz of Incredible Technology noted, “In the end, Nintendo sets all pricing for WiiWare based on the game and its contents.” From what I can recall, weren’t developers able to ultimately place a price point on their own games? Are there exceptions to this? Or, is this nothing more than an error on Andy Kniaz? Either way, I’m sure we’ll find out in due time.
Possible WiiWare sales figures in Japan

Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan Wii (1000 points) – 72,971
FFCC: My Life as a King (1000 points) – 129,904
Dr. Mario & Bacteria Extermination (1000 points) – 43,354
Everyone’s Pokemon Ranch (1000points) – 234,745
Unfortunately, this bit of news comes from a fairly unreliable source. Until we see official numbers from Nintendo or a more reliable source, I’d consider this a rumor for the time being.
Is it possible? Steet Fighter IV on Wii?
Posted on 16 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 4 Comments
According to the scan, Street Fighter IV will be coming to Wii. Most video game followers assumed that such a title would not be able to run on the Wii and any possibility of it coming over to the system was ruled out (in spite of Capcom claiming that the game could appear on any console). This bit of information does not come from a well-known magazine and errors in magazines are fairly common. Thus, I suppose we will have to wait for an official statement from Capcom or a press release in order to determine the validity of the magazine’s claim.
Paper Mario coming to DS?
Posted on 17 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors | 0 comments
Paper Mario was one of the greatest games on the Nintendo 64, and has even branched out onto the GameCube and Wii. Considering the enormous success the DS has earned, one would assume Paper Mario – now a mainstream franchise for Nintendo – would migrate the system. It appears Nintendo may be attempting to do so via a port. A listing has been revealed which includes the first Paper Mario game from the Nintendo 64 heading to the DS. Although fans would most likely prefer an original game over a port, the option to have Paper Mario on the go is an enticing option. As with most unconfirmed news, however, I would consider this a rumor.
F-Zero Z to be announced at E3?

UPDATE: I’m pretty sure that this information is fake. The logo appears to be a near replica of the F-Zero AX logo.
Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. These big three Nintendo guns have been released on the Nintendo Wii, but other well-known franchises such as Animal Crossing and F-Zero have not. According to one particular source, “F-Zero Z” will be announced at this year’s E3. Fans can expect an online mode and a weapons system. Because this hasn’t been officially confirmed, I advise to stay hopefully optimistic.
Rumor – Wii hack allows for VC game copying

I would definitely take this with a grain of salt. Not only is it not proven that the game can actually run, but hacking your Wii can lead to complete malfunction. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to know if someone has found a way to bypass a ton of Nintendo security.
New Castlevania game coming to DS?
Posted on 17 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors | 0 comments
The DS has been the home of two Castlevania games over the past few years. Both games that have been released on the Nintendo DS were received very well by both critics and gamers alike. One would expect to see more Castlevania on the handheld in the future, and perhaps we’re one step closer to experiencing yet another title. A logo and subtitle have been discovered for a new Castlevania game – Order of Ecclesia. It may be only a matter of time before more whip-slaying action can be found on the DS.

Sonic Unleashed to use same engine as Sonic Rush titles?
Posted on 17 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
The best and most recent Sonic titles have been found on the Nintendo DS. Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure were the closest games that returned Sonic to his roots and are ultimately two of the more entertaining games on the DS. With that being said, the Sonic games on console have been notoriously awful throughout the years. Sonic Unleashed may be changing this, however. The latest rumor floating around about the game is that Sonic Unleashed will use the same game system/engine as the Sonic Rush titles do. If this is to be believed, Sonic Rush might possibly turn out to be one of the most surprisingly enjoyable games of the year.
