New Ways to Play and Share Your Mario Fun

New Super Mario Bros. U is a new, side-scrolling adventure featuring Mario, Luigi, Toad … and your Mii character. Now’s your chance to step inside the Mushroom Kingdom and explore new worlds, new power-ups and new ways to play. Up to five players* can jump into the fun, with up to four people using Wii Remote controllers and one on the Wii U GamePad. The experience is different, depending on which controller is used.

Amazon is offering a pre-order bonus for Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward. Place an early order with the retailer to receive a bracelet. The one you receive is from a set containing three colors – you’ll end up with either red, blue, or green.

At this time, the 3DS pre-order page doesn’t contain the offer. It should soon though since the image above clearly shows that the offer applies to the 3DS and Vita versions.

Keep track of this page for updates. It lists “PlayStation Vita (Nintendo 3DS)”, which is contradictory… so Amazon should be cleaning this up soon.

There are the usual topics here – the pricing behind Wii U, why Nintendo didn’t include more memory, the second GamePad, and more. Reggie also touches on online for Wii U, noting that it will be “robust”.

A few “details” about the whole Wii U pre-order cutoff situation (and a couple of other things) from my friendly neighborhood Gamestop guy:

– Nintendo sent a company-wide number to Gamestop’s higher ups.
– Once this number is hit, Gamestop stores get a mysterious phone call telling them to quit taking pre orders.
– No word on what the number was.
– 80% of that number was sold yesterday.
– They expected the last 20% to sell-through by noon today, but it went over by a few hours.
– Wii U demo stations should arrive in select Gamestop stores mid to late October.
– There will be demo stations with the Wii U Game Pad and demo stations using a traditional controller.
– I asked whether the “traditional controller” demo stations were Wii U Pro Controller or Wii Remote, he said they aren’t sure yet.

If you’re still trying to preorder today, call your Gamestop before heading out and ask.

How many of you managed to get a preorder in today?

Level-5 will be releasing a new Inazuma Eleven game on Japanese Wiis later this year. You read that correctly – Wii, not Wii U.

Inazuma Eleven Go Strikers 2013 comes out in Japan on December 20. Since the game hasn’t been officially announced, we don’t have any details or images to report on at this time. We’ll have something soon hopefully.
