Chart-Topping Performance Sets The Stage For E3 Debut Of Eagerly Anticipated Sequel Skylanders Giants™
SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), is pleased to announce that Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure™, which launched to great acclaim and record-setting sales in October 2011, was the #1 best-selling console and handheld video game title between January and April 30, 2012 worldwide based on revenue inclusive of toys and accessories, according to The NPD Group, GfK, Charttrack and Activision internal estimates.
“This achievement is incredibly gratifying, and quite an honor for everyone at Activision and our team at Toys for Bob,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “It was a simple idea really—bridging the gap between real and virtual play—but one that required tremendous creativity to execute and communicate to our audience. It spawned a new category and a new platform for play in an overwhelmingly challenging marketplace. We couldn’t be happier that there is an ever-growing universe of Portal Masters out there.”

No Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for Wii U?

The image above comes from the debut trailer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. As you can see, there’s no Wii U logo up there.
We still don’t know for sure if Lords of Shadow 2 is in the works for Nintendo’s new console, but it’s in doubt now. Either Konami was asked to keep a Wii U version a secret until the Big N’s conference, or it’s simply not planned for the system. I’m sure all will be made clear in a few days.

Looks like Konami has plans to fully blow this game out during Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing. We’ll be getting a full trailer then, hopefully with gameplay.

Late last year, Square Enix unveiled a new franchise involving transforming robot cars. The IP includes an anime series, manga, an arcade game, and a 3DS title. Square Enix provided the first media for the handheld game today.
The tentatively titled “Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter RPG” features the same world as the arcade release, anime, and manga. However, the story will differ so that it can be experienced as a standalone product. The title will obviously contain RPG elements, and Square Enix has confirmed wireless combat.
Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter RPG will be hitting Japan in Spring 2013.
